AC Hotel by Marriott Bethesda Downtown suits business travellers and city visitors who want a clean, central base and plan to use the Metro. A gym, restaurant, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning are listed, and pets are accepted.
Skip it if you are driving and watching costs. Guests say parking and breakfast fees are high. And on the dates we checked, both of our other Bethesda picks were much cheaper.
Location and getting around
The hotel is at 4646 Montgomery Avenue. Guests rate the location 9.4 out of 10 and describe a short walk to the Metro station, shops and restaurants in the town centre.
The sights in our data are all a long way off. Washington D.C. Temple is about 4.1 km, roughly 51 minutes on foot. Garrett Park, Maryland is about 5.8 km, around 73 minutes. Washington National Cathedral is about 6.2 km, around 78 minutes. These are straight-line estimates and they are far, so plan on public transport or a taxi.
What guests say
With 8.9 out of 10 from 431 reviews, this is the best-rated hotel among those we compared in Bethesda, jointly. The review count is lower than at many hotels we cover, so the score rests on a smaller base.
Cleanliness earns the most praise: tidy, well maintained and spotless throughout. The walkable location is the other strong point. The main complaint is about extras. Guests find the room rates reasonable but say parking and breakfast fees are high.
Price and how it compares with our other picks
The reference price was about €411.67 a night, around €823 for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults. It is not a live quote. Check today's price for your dates, because this figure looks high against the rest of the market.
The Bethesdan Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, our Budget pick, was about €172.59 a night with an 8.1 score and four stars. Embassy Suites by Hilton Bethesda Washington DC, our Luxury pick, was about €129.88 a night with an 8.8 score and four stars. On these dates the Luxury pick was the cheapest of the three and scored almost the same. Unless the AC Hotel price drops for your dates, that is hard to ignore.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 7 eligible hotels in Bethesda. Our Best Value slot balances guest score, review count and price, and it is not always the cheapest option. This hotel ranked joint first of the 7 on guest score, with a 9.4 location score as well.
Its price was well above the sample median of €267.32 a night. We are telling you that plainly: it earned the slot on quality, not on price, and the value case depends on what you pay on your dates.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. An American breakfast is listed, but guests say it costs extra, so check your rate.
Ask for the current parking fee before you drive in. If you bring a pet, confirm the rules and charges. Compare the price with our other two picks for your exact dates.
