This is our Budget pick for Salou. It suits families and groups heading to the theme park, and travellers who want a pool and a terrace at a low price. Family rooms are listed by the property.
Skip it if you want breakfast on site, a gym or a spa, as none of these is confirmed in our data. It is also not the place for a Tarragona-focused trip, since the Roman Theatre is a long way off.
Location and getting around
The address is Autovía Reus -Salou, 3, in the Salou City Centre area. Guests rate the location 9.2 out of 10 and say the beach, shops, restaurants and PortAventura theme park are within walking distance.
Walking times are straight-line estimates. Shambhala, the roller coaster, is about 1.5 km away (around 19 minutes) and PortAventura Park is about 1.7 km away (around 21 minutes). The Roman Theatre in Tarraco is 9.8 km away, about 123 minutes on foot, which is far, so use public transport or a taxi for that.
What guests say
The score is 8.7 out of 10 from 1,142 reviews, joint 2nd by review score among the 9 eligible properties we compared.
Guests praise the location first, then the cleanliness. They describe spotless, fresh-smelling interiors kept to a high standard.
The main complaint is about extras. Base rates are seen as competitive, but guests note additional fees for linen and towels. Ask about these before you book, so the final cost does not surprise you.
Price and how it compares with our other Salou picks
The reference price was €52.48 a night, seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, about €105 in total before any linen or towel fees. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
That was 34% below the sample median of €79.62. Our Best Value pick, Blaumar Hotel, was €111.96 a night with the same 8.7 score. Our Luxury pick, Hotel Olympus Palace, was €94.96 with 8.9. On these dates the Luxury pick was cheaper than the Best Value pick. Áncora remains well below both, even after small extra fees.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 9 eligible properties in Salou. After setting aside the upscale choice, Áncora had the lowest eligible reference price, while keeping an 8.7 guest score and a 9.2 location score. That combination of price and walking access to the theme park earned it the Budget slot.
