Atelier Hotel is worth booking if you want a reliable, well-reviewed 3-star between the train station and the old centre with a good breakfast, at about €98 a night. If you want more than a comfortable room and a buffet, the facilities are basic and some guests feel the price is high for what is offered.

This 3-star hotel suits travellers arriving by train or bus. Guests say the station, the bus terminal and the city centre are all a short walk away.
It also suits anyone who values breakfast. Reviewers describe a fresh, varied buffet with a wide choice of quality items. Family rooms are listed, which helps small groups.
Skip it if you want extras like a spa, pool or gym; none are listed. Some guests also question the value, saying the cost feels high relative to the facilities.

What guests say
Atelier scores 8.9 out of 10 from 6,246 reviews, joint fifth of 10 eligible properties on review score. With over six thousand reviews, the figure is well supported.
The location near the station and centre, and the breakfast, are the two things guests praise most. Opinion splits on value: some find the rates fair, others think they are high for a hotel with limited facilities.
Price and how it compares with our other picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 Nov, 2 adults, one room) was €98.26 per night, about €197 in total. That was 25% below the sample median of €130.26. It is a reference price, not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, Holiday Inn Express - Ljubljana by IHG, also a 3-star, scored 8.8 at €78.26 a night, €20 less. Our Luxury pick, Zlata Ladjica Boutique Hotel, a 5-star, scored 9.7 at €420.26. Atelier's main edge over the Budget pick is the breakfast range and a slightly higher score.
Breakfast types listed are continental, full English/Irish, vegetarian, gluten-free, American and buffet. Whether breakfast is in your rate is not confirmed. Listed facilities are free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a 24-hour front desk and family rooms.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 10 hotels in Ljubljana. Atelier took the Best Value slot by balancing an 8.9 score, a very large number of reviews and a price well below the median. It is not the cheapest hotel; the Budget pick is.
Choose it for the breakfast and the convenient walk to the station and centre, not for facilities.
Before you book
Check whether breakfast is included in your rate, since it is one of the main reasons to pick this hotel over the cheaper option. Room size, noise, renovation condition and cancellation terms have not been assessed.
If you are arriving late, the 24-hour front desk helps, but confirm check-in arrangements anyway.
