Book it if you are in Farnborough for the airport or the exhibition centre and want the best-rated hotel in town, with a budget to match. Skip it if price matters, because it cost about double our Best Value pick in the reference period.

Aviator Hampshire is our Luxury pick in Farnborough. Guests say it is convenient for the airport and the exhibition centre, so it suits business travellers and event visitors who want comfort close to where they need to be.
It also suits anyone who enjoys aviation: guests mention unusual views of the runway. Ask for a room with that outlook if it matters to you, since not every room is confirmed to have it.
Skip it if you are paying your own way and want to keep costs down. Both of our other Farnborough picks are 4-star hotels too, and both were far cheaper.
Location and getting around
The address is 55 Farnborough Road. Guests rate the location 9.3 out of 10.
On our straight-line estimates, St Michael's Abbey is about 2 km away, roughly 25 minutes on foot. The Cathedral of St Michael and St George in Aldershot is 2.2 km, about 28 minutes. Both are walkable if you do not mind a longer stroll.
Farnham is a different story. At 7.8 km, close to 98 minutes on foot, it is far, and you will need public transport or a taxi. Free parking is listed if you prefer to drive.
What guests say
With 9.2 from 976 reviews, the hotel was joint first of 5 eligible properties in our sample. That is the top score in this small field.
Staff draw the most praise for being friendly and professional, with a warm welcome and attentive service. The location near the airport and exhibition centre is the other strong point, along with those runway views.
The recurring complaint is cost. Guests rate the experience and views highly but find room rates and bar prices expensive.
Price compared with our other two picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 was €349.71 per night for 2 adults. The sample median was €198.32. This is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates, especially if an event is on.
The Elvetham Hotel, our Budget pick, was €116.67 per night with a score of 8.6 and 4 stars. HQ Aparthotel Farnborough, our Best Value pick, was €161.04 with 8.7 and 4 stars.
So you pay roughly three times the Budget rate for a higher score, a restaurant, a gym, a garden and a terrace. The score gap is real but modest.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 5 eligible hotels in Farnborough. No 5-star hotel qualified, so the Luxury slot went to the best 4-star option with a score of at least 8.5. Aviator Hampshire, at 9.2 and with an official 4-star rating, cleared that bar easily.
Breakfast covers a wide range: continental, full English or Irish, vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, American and buffet. That breadth helps groups with mixed diets.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition and cancellation terms have not been assessed. With an airport next door, ask about noise if you sleep lightly.
Breakfast inclusion is not confirmed for every rate. Check whether yours includes it, and check restaurant and gym hours plus any fees for your dates.
