Barceló Ourense
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Yes, it is easy to recommend: the top score in our Ourense sample, a gym and roomy interiors, for about the city's median price. Book it for couples and families who want space; check reviews on room cleanliness, the one recurring complaint.

This is our Luxury choice in Ourense, though in this city luxury does not cost much more. It suits couples and families, since guests say the interiors are spacious enough for both. A gym is listed, and breakfast is a buffet.
Travellers who expect spotless rooms every time may want to look closer. Most guests call the rooms tidy, but some found dust, insects or dirty bathroom fittings. It is not a common theme, yet it is the main criticism in our data.
Location and getting around
The address is Curros Enríquez nº1. Guests praise the central position near the old town, shops, bars and San Lazaro park. The location score is 9.6 out of 10, the highest of our three picks in Ourense.
By our straight-line estimates, the Ponte Vella is about 0.5 km away, roughly 6 minutes on foot, and Ourense Cathedral is about 0.7 km, roughly 9 minutes. Walking times have not been verified.
Our data does not list parking. If you drive, ask the hotel about spaces and fees before you go.
What guests say
The score is 8.8 out of 10 from 1,894 reviews. That puts it joint 1st of the 7 eligible hotels we compared in Ourense.
Guests return to two strengths. One is the location, close to the old town and the park. The other is room size: they describe spacious interiors with ample room for couples and families.
On the downside, room cleanliness is uneven. Generally the rooms are tidy, but some guests reported dust, insects or dirty bathroom fixtures. If your room is not right, ask the front desk straight away.
Price and how it compares with our other two picks
Reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults came to about €81 per night, exactly the sample median. These are not live quotes. Check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, Alda Altiana, is a two-star hotel scoring 8.6 at about €61.75 per night. Our Best Value pick, Carris Cardenal Quevedo, is a four-star scoring 8.7 at about €80 per night.
The Carris is only €1 cheaper per night in our reference data, so the two are close. This hotel edges it on score and location and lists a gym. Against the Budget pick, you pay about €19 more per night for two extra stars and a better score.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 7 eligible hotels in Ourense. Five-star hotels get priority for the Luxury slot, and a four-star can only qualify with at least 8.5. This one has 4 official stars and 8.8, the joint best score in the sample.
Listed facilities include a gym, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Availability, opening times and any fees must be checked for your dates.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed by us. Ask whether the buffet breakfast is part of your rate.
The listing carries a spa tag, but no spa is confirmed in our facilities data. If a spa matters, confirm what exists and what it costs before booking.
Compare with the Carris Cardenal Quevedo for your dates, since prices were almost identical.
