Best Western Erfurt-Apfelstädt
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Book it if you are driving, want a quiet 4-star stop near the motorway and do not mind a 13 km trip into Erfurt. Skip it if you want to walk to the old town, because the cathedral and the Krämerbrücke are far from here.

Road-trippers and business travellers with a car get the most out of this hotel. Guests describe a quiet rural setting near the motorway with good connections to the city. Families can use the listed family rooms, and there is a gym and a restaurant on site.
Pets are tagged for this property, but the policy and any fee are not confirmed. Check with the hotel first.
City-break visitors without a car should skip it. Every sight in our data is more than two and a half hours away on foot. Travellers who hate add-on charges should also think twice, since guests complain about paying extra for parking and breakfast.
Location and getting around
The hotel sits at Riedweg 1 in Apfelstädt, outside Erfurt. St Severus' Church is about 13 km away, roughly 163 minutes on foot. Erfurt Cathedral is 13.1 km, about 164 minutes, and the Krämerbrücke is 13.7 km, about 171 minutes.
Put plainly, all three are far. You will need a car, public transport or a taxi for every trip into Erfurt. Walking times are straight-line estimates.
The location score is 8.5, which reflects the quiet setting and motorway access more than closeness to the centre. Parking is not free according to guest comments, so check the price.
What guests say
The score is 8.5 out of 10 from 1,801 reviews. Breakfast is the highlight: a large buffet with fresh, regional items and vegan options, plus a breakfast to go.
Guests like the calm, rural setting and the easy road access. The main complaint is value. Room rates are seen as fair, but extra fees for parking and breakfast annoy people.
Price and what you get, compared with our other two picks
The reference price was €125.00 per night, seen for a 2-night stay on 10 to 12 November 2026 for 2 adults. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates. The Erfurt sample median was €155.93, so this was about 20% below.
That buys 4 stars, a gym, a restaurant, a terrace, family rooms and free Wi-Fi. Add the cost of parking and breakfast if they are not in your rate.
Our Budget pick, Hotel Wilna, was €109.20 with a score of 8.2 and 3 stars. Our Luxury pick, LEGERE HOTEL Erfurt, was €168.21 with a score of 8.7 and 4 stars. This hotel is the middle option on price, but it is the only one of the three where the old town is clearly out of walking range in our data.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 9 eligible hotels in the Erfurt area. This one shares second place on review score, has 1,801 reviews and was priced well below the median. That balance earned it the Best Value slot, though the location only works if you have transport.
