Curtiss Hotel, an Ascend Collection Hotel
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Book it if you want the only officially 5-star option among our Buffalo picks, with a spa, pool and free parking listed, and you are comfortable paying about 14% above the local median. Be aware that its guest score rests on just 65 reviews and matches our much cheaper Budget pick, so the case is about facilities and category, not a standout rating.

This 5-star hotel at 210 Franklin Street suits travellers who want a fuller set of amenities in downtown Buffalo. The property lists a spa, a pool, a gym, a restaurant, a terrace and free parking, a longer list than our other two Buffalo picks.
It is a sensible choice for a special-occasion night or for drivers who value free parking downtown, once you confirm it for your dates.
Skip it if guest score per euro is your measure. It scored the same as our Budget pick, which cost about 113 euros less per night, and lower than our Best Value pick.
Location and getting around
The location score is 9.0. On straight-line estimates, Peace Bridge is 3.1 km away, about 39 minutes on foot. Old Fort Erie is 4 km, around 50 minutes. Buffalo AKG Art Museum is 4.8 km, about 60 minutes.
All three are far by foot, so plan on public transport or a taxi. These times have not been verified.
The facilities list also includes a beachfront label. For a downtown street address, that is not something we can confirm, so do not book on the expectation of a beach.
What guests say
The hotel scores 8.4 out of 10 from 65 reviews, joint sixth among 10 eligible Buffalo properties. Sixty-five reviews is a small base, so the score could move as more guests rate it.
Our data holds no summary of specific guest likes or dislikes for this hotel. That means we cannot tell you what guests praise most or what tends to go wrong.
To fill that gap, read the most recent reviews on the booking page before you commit, paying attention to rooms, noise and service.
Price and what you get compared with our other two picks
The reference price was 267.53 euros a night, about 535.06 euros for the stay. This is a reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, not a live quote. Check today's price for your dates.
The sample median was 235.18 euros, so it sat around 14% above. Our Budget pick, Wyndham Garden Buffalo Downtown, was 154.97 euros with the same 8.4 score. Our Best Value pick, Hampton Inn & Suites Buffalo/Downtown, was 199.62 euros with an 8.6.
What the extra money buys is the 5-star category and a broader amenity list, including the spa and free parking. It does not buy a higher guest score.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 10 properties in Buffalo. For the Luxury slot, 5-star hotels take priority, and a 4-star fallback must score at least 8.5. The Curtiss holds 5 official stars and an 8.4 score, which earned it the place.
Its rating is the weakest link in that case, given the small number of reviews.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Breakfast is listed as continental; check whether it is in your rate.
Listed facilities include free Wi-Fi, a spa and wellness centre, a restaurant, a gym, a pool, free parking, air conditioning and a terrace. Opening times and any fees need checking, and ask the hotel what the beachfront label refers to.
