This is our Budget pick for Newcastle upon Tyne. It suits travellers arriving by train, people on a short city break and families, since family rooms are listed. Guests give it 8.5 out of 10 from 4,672 reviews.
Skip it if noise ruins your sleep. Guests say the walls are thin, and sound from neighbours, corridors and nearby bars gets in. On a weekend night that could matter a lot.

What guests say
Location is the big plus. Reviewers like being a short walk from the station, the shops and local attractions.
Staff get warm comments too. Guests describe a friendly welcome and helpful local advice.
Soundproofing is the main problem. Guests report thin walls that let in noise from neighbours, corridors and bars nearby. The location that makes it convenient is also what makes some nights loud.
