Golden Tulip La Baule Hotel and Residence
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Book it if you want space, a pool and free parking in La Baule for roughly half the local median price, especially as a family. Skip it if a strong breakfast or a central location you can confirm in advance matters more than the saving.

Families and road-trippers get the most from this 4-star Budget pick. Guests single out spacious rooms with plenty of space for families, the property lists family rooms, and parking is free. A gym, pool, garden, terrace and air conditioning are also listed, which is a lot for the lowest price among our three La Baule choices.
The tradeoff is guest score. At 8.2 out of 10 it sits joint last among the 5 hotels we compared in town. If you want the highest-rated stay, or you care a lot about breakfast, one of our other two picks will suit you better.
Location and getting around
The address is 12-14 Avenue de la Lieutenante, La Baule. The location score is 7.2, lower than the other ratings for this hotel. Our data does not include walking times to the beach, the town centre or any sights, so we cannot tell you how far anything is.
Before booking, put the address into a map and check the distance to the places you plan to spend time. Free parking helps if you arrive by car, but if you plan to go everywhere on foot, check the route first.
What guests say
The score is 8.2 out of 10 from 2,247 reviews, a large sample. Guests praise the staff as friendly and professional, with a warm welcome and helpful service. They also mention spacious interiors with ample room, which counts for families sharing one room.
Breakfast divides opinion. The buffet is described as varied, but some guests find certain items feel industrial or run out early. If breakfast is a priority, consider going early or checking whether a room-only rate is cheaper.
Price compared with our other La Baule picks
The reference price was €78.70 per night, about €157.40 for two nights. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 November) for 2 adults in one room, not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates. The sample median was €141.84 a night, which puts this hotel about 45% below it.
Hôtel Le Saint Christophe, our Best Value pick, is 4 stars, scores 8.9 and cost €141.84 a night. Hôtel Barrière L'Hermitage, the Luxury pick, is 5 stars, scores 9.4 and cost €407.70 a night. Choosing the Golden Tulip saves you about €63 a night against the Saint Christophe, in exchange for a lower guest score.
Why it made our top 3
