It is worth booking if you want a low reference price within walking distance of the convention center, the cruise terminal and the French Quarter. Skip it if you plan to pay for breakfast and parking every day, because guests say those extras add up.

This 3-star Hilton Garden Inn fits convention visitors, cruise passengers and first-time visitors who want to walk to the French Quarter without paying French Quarter prices. It lists a gym, a pool, a restaurant, family rooms, a terrace, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi, and it is tagged as pet-friendly.
It is less suited to travellers who want a top guest score. At 8.3, it ranked 13th of 18 eligible hotels by review score in our sample. Drivers should also think twice: guests report high parking charges, and the exact amount is not confirmed in our data.
Location and getting around
The hotel is at 1001 South Peters Street, in the Arts - Warehouse District. Guests rate the location 8.9 out of 10 and mention walking distance to the cruise terminal, the convention center and the French Quarter.
St. Louis Cathedral is about 1.8 km away, around 23 minutes on foot. Congo Square is 2.2 km, about 28 minutes. Both are straight-line estimates, so allow a few extra minutes.
The New Orleans Museum of Art is 5.7 km away, roughly 71 minutes on foot. That is far, so plan on public transport or a taxi for that visit.
What guests say
The hotel scores 8.3 out of 10 from 1,352 reviews, a large sample that gives the number some weight.
Location is the main praise. Guests also like the staff, described as friendly and professional at the front desk and with the valet service.
The main complaint is about extra costs. Room rates are seen as reasonable, but guests report high charges for breakfast and for parking. The listed breakfast is American and buffet style, and it does not appear to be included by default, so check your rate.
Price and how it compares with our other New Orleans picks
The reference price was €85.11 per night, seen for a 2-night stay from 10 to 12 November 2026 for 2 adults in one room. That is 48% below the sample median of €162.25 per night. It is a reference price, not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Best Value pick, Hampton Inn New Orleans French Quarter Market Area, came in at €110.99 per night with a score of 9.0. For about €26 more per night you get a clearly higher guest score, so compare both once you add breakfast and parking.
Our Luxury pick, Four Seasons New Orleans, is a 5-star hotel at €563.51 per night with a score of 9.1. That costs more than six times as much as this hotel.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 18 eligible properties in New Orleans. This one took the Budget spot because €85.11 was the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale choice was set aside. A walkable location and more than 1,300 reviews made it a safe budget choice, even if its score is mid-table.
