Holiday Inn Express Ajaccio by IHG
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Book it if you want a clean, modern room near the airport and shops at a price below the Ajaccio median, and you have a car or do not mind taxis. Skip it if you want to stroll into the historic centre each evening, because it is a long walk away.

This is our Best Value pick for Ajaccio. It suits travellers with an early or late flight, road-trippers using Ajaccio as a stop, and families, since family rooms are listed. Pets are tagged as accepted, though conditions and fees are not confirmed.
Its 8.7 score from 2,011 reviews ranked 2nd of the 11 properties we compared. Guests single out clean, modern, well-kept interiors.
The tradeoff is the location. If your plan is to wander the old town and the citadel on foot, this is the wrong base.
Location and getting around
The address is Boulevard Louis Campi, and the location score is 8.0, the weakest number on this page. Guests say it is handy for the airport and shops but far from the historic centre.
Straight-line walking estimates are about 38 minutes to Musée Fesch (3 km) and about 43 minutes to both Ajaccio Cathedral and the Citadelle d'Ajaccio (3.4 km). Those are far. You will need public transport, a taxi or a car to reach them comfortably. Parking is not listed in our data, so ask the hotel if you are driving.
What guests say
Breakfast is a highlight: a varied buffet with sweet and savoury choices and local products. Cleanliness is the other strong point, with reviewers describing modern, spotless rooms and shared spaces.
The one recurring complaint is distance from the old centre. Room size and noise have not been assessed, so check recent reviews if those matter to you.
Price compared with our other Ajaccio picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults in one room, was €80.02 a night, about €160 for both nights. The sample median was €96.70, so this was 17% below it. These are reference prices, not live quotes; check today's price for your dates.
Here the Budget and Best Value picks are almost level on price. Hôtel Spunta Di Mare, our Budget pick, scored 8.6 at €79.20, less than €1 cheaper. Hotel San Carlu Citadelle Ajaccio, our Luxury pick, scored 8.9 at €141 and sits by the citadel. If the old town matters more to you than a modern room, the extra cost of the Luxury pick may be worth it.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 11 eligible properties in Ajaccio. The Best Value slot weighs guest score, review numbers and price together, so it is not always the cheapest.
This hotel had the 2nd-best guest score in the sample, a large review base and a price 17% below the median. That balance earned it the slot, despite the distance from the centre.
