Hotel 1915 INN & SUITES
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Yes, for most people passing through Alajuela this is the sensible middle choice: a strong guest score, a central spot and a price well under the local median. Light sleepers should think twice, because guests report thin walls and street noise.

This is our Best Value pick in Alajuela. It suits couples and families who want a reliable stay close to the airport and the town square without paying resort prices. A score of 8.7 out of 10 from 1,377 guest reviews puts it second of the 5 hotels we compared on guest feedback.
The property lists family rooms, free parking, a garden and a terrace. Breakfast options in our data are Continental and American.
Skip it if you need a quiet room above all. Soundproofing is the clearest complaint in the reviews.
Location and getting around
The listed address is 712, Alajuela, Costa Rica. Guests rate the location 8.9 out of 10 and say the town square and restaurants are within walking distance, with the airport a short drive away.
The only sight in our data is the San José Costa Rica Temple, about 4.9 km away. As a straight-line estimate that is around 61 minutes on foot, which is far, so you will need a taxi or public transport. Walking times are estimates and have not been verified.
Guests mention that staff help arrange airport transfers. Our data does not confirm a free shuttle, so ask about cost and timing when you book.
What guests say
Praise centres on two things. The location gets credit for the short drive to the airport and the easy walk to the square. The staff are described as friendly and helpful with luggage, transfers and local tips.
The weak point is noise. Several guests say the walls are thin and that traffic from the street and sounds from neighbouring rooms come through. Earplugs or a request for a room away from the street could help, though we cannot confirm which rooms are quieter.
Price compared with our other Alajuela picks
We saw €87.24 per night here, against a sample median of €120.45. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
The Budget pick, Hotel La Guaria Inn & Suites, was €53.32 per night with a score of 8.0. The Luxury pick, Xandari Resort & Spa, was €266.65 per night with a 9.0. Paying about €34 more than the Budget option buys you 0.7 extra points of guest score. The jump to Xandari costs roughly three times as much for 0.3 more points.
Why it made our top 3
Out of 5 eligible hotels, the Best Value slot goes to the one that balances guest score, review volume and price best. It is not necessarily the cheapest. Hotel 1915 combines the second-best score in the sample with a price 28% below the median, which is why it won this slot.
Before you book
Check whether breakfast is included in your rate, since our data lists the style but not the terms. Room size, noise levels, renovation condition and cancellation terms have not been assessed.
Free parking is listed. If you are arriving late or leaving early, confirm reception hours and how airport transfers are arranged and charged.
