Hotel Astor is our Best Value pick in Vaasa. It fits couples and business travellers who want a central 4-star base with a fitness center and a 24-hour front desk. Family rooms are listed too, which helps if you travel with children.
Skip it if price is your first filter. At the reference rate it sat above the city sample median, and our Budget pick costs much less. Also skip it if you need detailed guest feedback to decide: our data has no summary of what guests liked or disliked here.
Location and getting around
The address is Asemakatu 4. The location score is high at 9.4. By straight-line estimate, the Wasa Theatre is 0.7 km away, about 9 minutes on foot.
Korsholm Castle is 5.9 km away, roughly 74 minutes on foot, and Korsholm Church is 6.3 km, about 79 minutes. Both are far: plan on public transport or a taxi. Walking times have not been verified, so check routes on a map, and keep in mind that November weather in Finland can make longer walks less appealing.
What guests say
Hotel Astor scores 8.7 out of 10 from 930 guest reviews. That is a strong result from a reasonable sample, and the location score of 9.4 suggests people rate the setting highly.
Beyond those numbers, our data holds no summary of specific likes or complaints. That is not a warning sign in itself, but it means we cannot tell you about room size, noise or service from guest comments. Read recent reviews on the booking page before you commit.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
Reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults, came to €195 per night, so €390 for both nights. The sample median was €172.25, so Hotel Astor sat about 13% above it. These are not live quotes. Check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, Scandic Waskia, is also a 4-star hotel. It scored 8.2 and cost €105.50 a night, almost €90 less. Our Luxury pick, Original Sokos Hotel Royal, scored 9.0 and cost €190 a night, which is €5 below Hotel Astor on those dates. In plain terms, if both are available at similar prices for your stay, compare them directly. Hotel Astor earns its place on its score and review count, and breakfast is listed as continental and buffet.
Why it made our top 3
Only 4 eligible properties were compared in Vaasa, so the field was small. Hotel Astor shared second place on guest score. The Best Value slot weighs score, number of reviews and price together; it is not meant to be the cheapest. With 930 reviews behind an 8.7, the rating is well supported.
