Yes, book it if you want free parking, a good breakfast and the mosaics within about 10 minutes on foot for €73 a night. If you need a roomy room or the highest guest score in town, our other two picks are stronger.

Hotel Astoria is our Budget pick in Ravenna. It suits travellers arriving by car, since it lists free parking and guests say it sits just outside the traffic zone. It also works for anyone who wants to see the main monuments on foot without paying centre prices. Pets are accepted according to the listing, and family rooms are available.
Skip it if room size matters a lot to you. Rooms are often described as compact or tight, though some guests found theirs spacious. With an 8.3 score, it is also the lowest-rated of our three Ravenna picks.
Location and getting around
The address is Circonvallazione alla Rotonda, dei Goti 26/28. Guests give the location 8.7 and describe a short walk to the city centre and the train station.
Straight-line estimates put the Basilica of San Vitale and the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia both 0.6 km away, about 8 minutes on foot. The Basilica of Sant'Apollinare Nuovo is 0.8 km, about 10 minutes. That covers the core sights without needing transport. Walking times are estimates and have not been measured on the ground.
What guests say
The hotel scores 8.3 out of 10 from 3,298 reviews, joint third of the 6 eligible properties we compared.
Location is the top positive: close to the centre and the station, and handy for drivers because it is outside the traffic zone. Breakfast also gets good marks, with a varied buffet that includes fresh fruit, homemade cakes and gluten-free options.
The main complaint is room size. Many guests call the rooms compact, while others found them spacious, so it may depend on the room type you book.
Price and how it compares with our other picks
The reference price was €73.00 a night, €146.00 for two nights. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 Nov) for 2 adults in one room, not live quotes. Check today's price for your dates.
That was 42% below the sample median of €125.50, a big saving for a central location. Our Best Value pick, Palazzo Galletti Abbiosi, was €113 a night with a 9.0 score. Our Luxury pick, Palazzo Bezzi Hotel, was €262.48 with 9.4 and four stars. Here you save €40 a night against Best Value, in exchange for a lower score and possibly a smaller room.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 6 eligible hotels in Ravenna. After setting aside the upscale choice, Hotel Astoria had the lowest eligible reference price, which is how we fill the Budget slot. Its walking distance to the mosaics and more than 3,000 reviews made it an easy choice for this slot.
Listed facilities include free parking, family rooms, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a 24-hour front desk. Breakfast is listed as continental, Italian, vegetarian, gluten-free and buffet.
