Hotel do Mar

By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.

Hotel do Mar is a sensible booking if you want a 4-star beachfront base in Sesimbra with a pool, gym and free parking listed, at the lowest price of our three picks. Be aware that it is only about €1 a night cheaper than our Best Value pick, which scores higher, so compare both before you book.

We may earn a commission if you book. It never changes our pick.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

Couples and families who want the sea close by and some facilities on site are the natural fit. The property lists beachfront access, a pool, a gym, a restaurant, a garden, a terrace, free parking and free Wi-Fi. Free parking matters if you arrive by car, as many visitors to Sesimbra do.

If guest score is your main filter, look at the alternatives first. Its 8.0 is the lowest of the four hotels we compared, and our other two picks both score 8.7. Travellers who need detailed guest feedback should also note that our data has no summary of what guests like or dislike here, so you will need to read recent reviews yourself.

Location and getting around

You will find it at Rua General Humberto Delgado,10. The location scores 9.5 out of 10 with guests. On straight-line estimates, the Fortress of Saint James of Sesimbra is about 0.5 km away, around 6 minutes on foot. The Castle of Sesimbra is about 1 km, roughly 13 minutes, and the Fort of São Teodósio da Ponta do Cavalo is about 1.3 km, around 16 minutes.

All three sights are within a reasonable walk. Keep in mind that these are straight-line figures, and the real route may be longer, especially if it involves climbs.

What guests say

The hotel averages 8.0 out of 10 across 6,040 reviews, a large sample that makes the score fairly reliable. Our data does not include a breakdown of common praise or complaints for this property, so we cannot tell you what guests single out.

The one clear signal is location: 9.5 is a strong figure and higher than the overall score. Read a handful of recent reviews to judge room condition, noise and service, since none of these has been assessed by us.

Price and how it compares with our other Sesimbra picks

The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 Nov, 2 adults, one room) was €104 a night, about €208 in total. That is about 3% below the median of the hotels we compared. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.

Here the gap between picks is small. Four Points by Sheraton Sesimbra, our Best Value choice, was about €105 a night with a score of 8.7. Sesimbra Oceanfront Hotel - Preferred Hotels and Resorts, our Luxury pick, is a 5-star hotel at about €126 a night, also scoring 8.7. Breakfast at Hotel do Mar is listed as continental and buffet, but whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed.

Why it made our top 3

Sesimbra is a small market: we compared 4 eligible hotels. Hotel do Mar had the lowest eligible reference price after the upscale pick was set aside, which is how the Budget slot is chosen. Its review position was joint 4 of 4.

It earns its place through the facility list and the volume of reviews, not through the score. With prices this close, the Budget label means little on these dates, and it may change for yours.

Before you book

Compare the live price against Four Points by Sheraton Sesimbra for your exact dates. Check whether breakfast is in the rate and whether the pool, gym and restaurant are open in your season, since opening times and fees are not confirmed.

Confirm parking is still free and the cancellation terms. Room size, noise and renovation condition have not been assessed.
