Yes, book it if you are driving and want the best-rated hotel in our Chihuahua sample, clean and friendly, for under the median price. Skip it if you want to explore the historic centre on foot, because the cathedral is about 75 minutes away walking, and light sleepers should note the noise complaints.

Hotel Don Ruben is our Best Value pick in Chihuahua. It is a 4-star hotel with a 9.2 guest score from 216 reviews, joint first of the eight hotels we compared.
It works well for road trippers, business travellers and anyone who values a clean room and a warm welcome over a central address. Free parking, a gym and a restaurant are listed. It works less well for visitors without a car who want to walk to the sights, and for people who sleep badly with background noise.
Location and getting around
The address is Avenida Silvestre Terrazas, 11804. The Cathedral of Chihuahua is about 6 km away, roughly 75 minutes on foot, and Cruz de Clavos about 6.5 km, roughly 81 minutes. Those are straight-line estimates. In practice, the historic centre is far from here, and you will need a car, public transport or a taxi.
The location score is 8.9, which suggests guests are happy with the area for what they need. Just do not book it expecting to stroll to the main square.
What guests say
Two things stand out. Staff are described as friendly, kind and helpful, with a warm welcome. Cleanliness is the other: guests say bedrooms and common areas are kept spotless and tidy.
The main complaint is noise. Some guests say loud air conditioning units and sounds from the hallway disturb their sleep. If that worries you, ask for a quieter room when you book, and pack earplugs.
Price and how it compares with our other two picks
The reference price was €72.78 per night, about €145.56 for two nights. That is a reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults in one room, not a live quote. It was 20% below the sample median of €91.45 per night. Check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, Hotel Posada Tierra Blanca, cost €58.30 per night, scored 8.0 and sits about 5 minutes on foot from the cathedral. Our Luxury pick, Holiday Inn & Suites Chihuahua Expo by IHG, cost €126.13 per night, scored 9.1 and is around 13 minutes on foot from the cathedral.
So Don Ruben gives you the top score for only about €14.50 more than the Budget pick, and about €53 less than the Luxury pick. What you trade is location. Add the cost of taxis or fuel into the centre when you compare.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 8 eligible hotels in Chihuahua. The Best Value slot weighs guest score, number of reviews and reference price, so it is not necessarily the cheapest. Here, the joint highest score, a solid 216 reviews and a price 20% below the median made it the strongest balance in the sample.
Before you book
American breakfast is listed, but whether it is included in your rate has not been assessed. Check the rate details. Room size, renovation condition and cancellation terms have not been assessed.
Ask for a room away from noisy units if you sleep lightly. Check gym hours for your dates, and plan how you will get to the historic centre.
