By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Book it if you want a quiet, well-run four-star base in Sendai with helpful staff and the top guest score in our sample, at a price close to the city median. Skip it if a large breakfast buffet matters to you, since breakfast here is a set menu.

Hotel GrandBach Sendai is our Best Value pick for the city. It suits couples, solo travellers and business visitors who want a calm street, a convenience store on the doorstep and staff who help with luggage storage.
A restaurant, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning are listed. Family rooms are not in our data, so families should check room options first.
If breakfast choice matters to you, think about it. Guests like the Japanese and Western set menus, served with live music, but say there is little buffet-style variety.
Location and getting around
The address is Miyagino-ku Tsutsujigaoka 3-7-33. Guests describe a quiet area near the East exit, with a convenience store downstairs. The location score is 9.0.
Zuihōden is about 2.2 km away, roughly 28 minutes on foot as a straight-line estimate. Aoba Castle is about 2.9 km, around 36 minutes, so it is far on foot and public transport or a taxi makes sense. Sendai Daikannon is about 7.2 km, close to 90 minutes, which is clearly a trip by transport.
What guests say
The score is 9.0 out of 10 from 2,730 guest reviews. In our sample that placed it joint first of 11 eligible properties for review score.
Staff come up often. Guests call the team friendly and helpful, and mention luggage storage as a practical plus. The quiet setting and the convenience store downstairs are also liked.
Breakfast is the mixed point. The set menus are described as tasty, and the listing calls the breakfast Asian, but guests would like more variety. Room size, noise, renovation state and cancellation terms have not been assessed.
Price and how it compares with our other Sendai picks
The reference price was 98.47 euros per night, about 197 euros for two nights. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, not live quotes. The sample median was 90.06 euros, so this hotel was slightly above it.
Our Budget pick, The OneFive Sendai, was 64.59 euros a night with an 8.3 score and 3 stars. Our Luxury pick, The Westin Sendai, was 245.37 euros with an 8.8 score and 5 stars.
Here is the value case. GrandBach scores higher than the Westin for well under half its price. Against The OneFive you pay about 34 euros more per night for a jump from 8.3 to 9.0 and a fourth star.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 11 hotels in Sendai. The Best Value slot balances guest score, number of reviews and reference price, so it is not always the cheapest. GrandBach combined the joint top score with 2,730 reviews at a near-median rate.
