This is our Luxury choice in Gloucester. It suits couples and short-break visitors who want to walk to Gloucester Cathedral and Glevum. Family rooms are listed, and the hotel is tagged as pet friendly.
Skip it if price is your main concern. It costs more than the city median and more than our other two picks, which are also 4-star. Skip it too if you want countryside sights such as Prinknash Abbey on your doorstep, since that is a long way out.
Location and getting around
The address is 4 Cathedral Walk. The location score is 9.4 out of 10, the highest figure in this hotel's profile.
Gloucester Cathedral is about 0.4 km away, around 5 minutes on foot. Glevum is about 0.5 km, around 6 minutes. Both are an easy stroll.

Our data does not include a summary of recurring guest praise or complaints for this hotel. We cannot tell you whether staff, rooms or breakfast stand out, or what the common problems are.
Before you book, read a handful of recent reviews on the booking site. Look in particular for comments on noise, room size and breakfast, as those are not covered in our data.
Price and what you get compared with our other Gloucester picks
The reference price was €174.86 per night, about €349.72 for two nights. This is a reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, not a live quote. Check today's price for your dates.
The sample median was €148.92, so this hotel sits above the typical price. Our Best Value pick, Holiday Inn Gloucester - Cheltenham by IHG, scored 8.6 at €156.79. Our Budget pick, Mercure Gloucester Bowden Hall Hotel, scored 8.2 at €110.75. All three are 4-star.
The extra cost buys the highest score in the group and the walk-to-the-cathedral address. Listed facilities are free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, air conditioning and family rooms. Breakfast options include continental, full English or Irish, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free, though inclusion in your rate is not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 4 eligible hotels in Gloucester. Five-star hotels get priority for the Luxury slot, and a four-star hotel only qualifies with a score of at least 8.5. Hotel Indigo holds an official 4-star rating and a 9.1 score, so it clears that bar and also tops the sample on guest rating.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Check them in the listing.
