Yes, if location is your priority: it sits about 3 minutes on foot from the cathedral, the Archbishops' Palace and the Pont des Marchands. It suits couples on a city break; if room size matters more than position, some guests feel the rate is high for what you get.

This is our Best Value pick in Narbonne. It fits couples and solo travellers who want to step out of the door and be at the main sights, and people arriving by train, since guests say the station is close. The 24-hour front desk helps with late arrivals. The listing also flags it as pet-friendly.
Skip it if you want space and resort facilities. Guests feel the rates are high for the room size and the breakfast. The listed facilities are short: free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and the 24-hour desk.
Location and getting around
The address is 6 Rue Du 1er Mai. Guests rate the location 9.6 out of 10 and mention the cathedral, the canal and the train station nearby.
On straight-line estimates, Narbonne Cathedral, the Palace of the Archbishops of Narbonne and the Pont des Marchands are each about 0.2 km away, roughly 3 minutes on foot. For a short city stay you can probably leave the car behind. Parking is not listed, so if you drive, check where you can park and what it costs.
What guests say
The score is 8.7 out of 10 from 497 reviews, second of the 3 eligible hotels we compared. Guests praise a friendly, helpful team that gives a warm welcome and attentive service, and they like the central position.
The weak point is value. Some guests say the price felt high relative to the size of the room and the breakfast, even though the overall quality was good. If you need a larger room, check the room size in the listing before you pay.
Price compared with our other two Narbonne picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults in one room, was €140.57 per night, about €281 for both nights. That matched the sample median exactly. It is a reference price, not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Breakfast is listed as continental and buffet, with vegetarian and gluten-free options. Whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed.
Our Budget pick, Novotel Narbonne Sud A9/A61, scored 8.1 at €132.62 per night. Our Luxury pick, Château L'Hospitalet Wine Resort Beach & Spa, scored 8.8 at €376.64. For about €8 more a night than the Novotel, La Résidence gives you a higher score and a central position. The Château costs more than double.
Why it made our top 3
Only 3 eligible hotels were compared in Narbonne, so the field was small. The Best Value slot balances guest score, number of reviews and reference price. La Résidence earns it with an 8.7 score, 497 reviews, a location score of 9.6 and a median price. Keep the small sample in mind when you weigh our ranking.
Before you book
Check the room size for your rate, given the value complaints. Confirm whether breakfast is included. If you drive, ask about parking, since none is listed. If you bring a pet, ask about rules and fees. Read the cancellation terms. Noise has not been assessed, which matters in a central street, so ask for a quiet room if you are a light sleeper.
