Yes, it is worth booking if you want the best-rated 5-star hotel in our Surabaya sample, in a central spot near malls and restaurants, for about €88 a night. Skip it if you are on a tight budget, since our other two picks cost €24 and €35, or if you plan to eat every meal at the hotel restaurant.

Couples and business travellers who want full facilities and a central base will get the most from it. Guests rate it 9.3 out of 10 across 944 reviews, and the location score is 9.6. Its score ranked joint first of the 16 hotels we compared.
Backpackers and anyone watching costs closely should look at our Budget or Best Value picks. They are a fraction of the price, with lower but still decent scores.
Location and getting around
The hotel is at Jalan Tunjungan No.65 in Genteng. Guests describe a central position in the Tunjungan district, close to shopping malls and restaurants, which suits evenings out without long trips.
The sights in our data are another story. Ampel Mosque is about 3.3 km away, roughly 41 minutes on foot. Al-Akbar Mosque is about 8.9 km, roughly 111 minutes, and Suramadu Bridge about 9.5 km, roughly 119 minutes. These are straight-line estimates and all three are far. Use a taxi or public transport for them. Free parking is listed if you drive.
What guests say
Staff draw consistent praise for being friendly, professional and attentive. The Tunjungan location is the other common positive, with malls and places to eat nearby.
The restaurant splits opinion. Some guests enjoy the food and the high tea, while others find the quality average and the service slow. Treat it as one option among many nearby, not a reason to book.
Price and value next to our other picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 November, 2 adults, one room) was €88.39 a night, about €177 for both nights. The sample median was €50.71. This is a reference, not a live quote. Check today's price for your dates.
Our Best Value pick, Kampi Hotel Tunjungan - Surabaya, was €35.30 a night with an 8.7 score and 3 stars. The Budget pick, Surabaya River View Hotel, was €23.52 with an 8.0 score and 3 stars. You pay roughly €53 more per night than Kampi for a higher score, 5 stars and a much longer list of facilities.
The property lists a gym, spa, pool, restaurant, free parking, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a garden and a terrace. A buffet breakfast is listed, but whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 16 eligible properties in Surabaya. For the Luxury slot, five-star hotels come first. This hotel has an official 5-star rating and the joint highest guest score in the sample, backed by 944 reviews.
A 5-star hotel with that score for under €90 a night is why it holds the slot.
