Hotel Melchior Park
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Book it if you want a quiet 4-star base with a spa, pool and gym and you are happy to use transport or walk 25 minutes or more to the main sights. If you want to step straight into the old town, our two cheaper picks may serve you better.

Drivers will like it: guests mention easy highway access. So will travellers who want calm, since the hotel sits in a quiet setting near a park and the university. Wellness is a draw, with a spa, pool and gym listed by the property. Pets are tagged as allowed, but conditions are not confirmed.
Skip it if you plan to walk everywhere in the centre or if you are price sensitive. It is our most expensive Würzburg pick, and the city sights are not on the doorstep.
Location and getting around
The hotel is at Am Galgenberg 49. The Würzburg Residence is about 2 km away, roughly 25 minutes on foot. Würzburg Cathedral is about 2.5 km, around 31 minutes, and Marienberg Fortress about 3.1 km, around 39 minutes. These are straight-line estimates, so real walks will be longer.
Put simply, the cathedral and the fortress are far from here on foot. Plan on public transport or a taxi for those, and for evenings out in town. The guest location score is 8.3, lower than at many central hotels, which matches this picture.
The upside is the quiet. Guests value the park and university surroundings, and arriving by car is straightforward.
What guests say
The score is 8.5 out of 10 from 2,322 reviews, joint first of the 9 eligible hotels we compared. Staff get consistent praise for being friendly, helpful and attentive, with a warm welcome on arrival.
Breakfast draws mixed comments. The buffet is extensive and includes a fresh egg station, but guests say bread freshness and the speed of service vary. Listed breakfast types are continental, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and buffet.
Price and how it compares with our other Würzburg picks
The reference price was €199.50 per night, about €399 for two nights. This is a reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates. The sample median was €138.97, so you pay a clear premium here.
Our Budget pick, AC Hotel by Marriott Wuerzburg, was €109.20 per night with an 8.2 score. Our Best Value pick, Dorint Hotel Würzburg, was €138.97 with an 8.4 score. All three are 4-star hotels. The extra €60 a night over the Dorint buys a slightly higher score and a broader set of listed facilities: spa, pool, gym, restaurant, garden, terrace, air conditioning and free WiFi.
Pool and spa opening times and any fees are not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 9 eligible hotels in Würzburg. Our Luxury slot goes to 5-star hotels first, and a 4-star can only take it with a score of at least 8.5. None of the 5-star options qualified ahead of it, and this hotel met the bar with 8.5, the best score in the sample, plus the widest wellness offer of our three picks.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Check them on your booking page.
Ask about spa and pool hours and whether they cost extra. If you are coming by car, confirm parking arrangements, since our data does not cover them. If you do not have a car, work out how you will get into town before you commit.
