This 3-star hotel at 2-1-1tokiwacho in Aoi Ward suits travellers who care about breakfast and a central base. It has the highest guest score of our three Shizuoka picks: 9.1 out of 10 from 819 reviews.
Listed facilities are few: air conditioning and a 24-hour front desk. Free Wi-Fi is not listed in our data, so confirm it if you need to work. There is no confirmed restaurant, gym or spa.
Skip it if you are short on patience at check-in. Guests find the team polite but mention long wait times and occasional understaffing.
Location and getting around
Guests rate the location 8.6 out of 10 and describe it as central, within walking distance of shops, restaurants and the city centre.
Sunpu Castle is about 0.9 km away, roughly 11 minutes on foot. Shizuoka Sengen Shrine is about 1.5 km, around 19 minutes. Kunōzan Tōshō-gū is about 7.8 km, close to 98 minutes on foot. That is far, so use public transport or a taxi for it.
Walking times are straight-line estimates and have not been verified.
What guests say
Breakfast leads the praise. Guests describe a buffet with a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes that change daily. Location comes next, for its easy walk to shops, restaurants and the centre.
The criticism concerns staffing. The team is called polite, but guests report long waits and times when the hotel seemed short of staff. Room size, noise, renovation condition and cancellation terms have not been assessed.

Our Budget pick, Sanco Inn Shizuoka Kitaguchi, is a 2-star at €43.02 per night with a score of 8.1. Our Luxury pick, Hotel Associa Shizuoka, is a 5-star at €171.58 per night with a score of 8.8. OLE INN sits in the middle on price but beats both on guest score.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 10 eligible hotels in Shizuoka. OLE INN shares the top review-score position in that sample. Our Best Value slot balances guest score, number of reviews and reference price, so it is not necessarily the cheapest. The top score at a mid-range price made it the pick.
