Hotel Plaza Cavana is our Budget pick in Nerja. It is a 3-star hotel with a guest score of 8.9 out of 10 from 691 reviews.
It suits couples and families who want to be in the middle of town. Guests say it is steps from the Balcon de Europa, the beaches and restaurants. A pool, family rooms, a terrace, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning are listed, and breakfast is a buffet.
Skip it if a really good morning coffee matters to you. Guests single it out as poor.
Location and getting around
The address is Plaza Cavana, 10, in Nerja City Centre. Guests rate the location 9.8 out of 10, the highest of our three Nerja picks.
The Caves of Nerja are about 3.4 km away, roughly 43 minutes on foot as a straight-line estimate. That is far, so plan on public transport or a taxi. Staff are praised for helpful advice on local transport, which should make that easier.
Exact walking times to the beaches are not in our data, but guests describe them as steps away.
What guests say
Location is the big win: steps from the Balcon de Europa, the beaches and restaurants. Staff are friendly and professional and give helpful tips on local transport and sightseeing.
Breakfast is a mixed picture. The buffet has a wide variety of food, but guests say the coffee quality is poor.
Price and how it compares with our other picks
We saw a reference price of about €92 a night, €184 in total, for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults in one room. That was 13% below the Nerja sample median of €105.25. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
The gap to our Best Value pick is small. MB Boutique Hotel - Adults Recommended was about €99 a night with 3 stars and 9.2. Our Luxury pick, Hotel Balcón de Europa, was about €160 with 4 stars and 8.8. Plaza Cavana saves you only about €7 a night against MB Boutique, but it has a pool and family rooms listed and a stronger location score. If you have children, that may decide it.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 8 eligible hotels in Nerja. Plaza Cavana was joint 5th on review score, yet €92 was the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale pick was reserved. A score of 8.9 and a 9.8 location rating make it an easy Budget choice.
