Hotel Ploberger
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Worth booking if you want the best-rated hotel in our Wels sample, a central address and a strong breakfast, at a price close to the other two picks. Travellers counting every euro can save a little at our Budget pick, but the gap here is small.

This is our Luxury pick in Wels, and it suits travellers who want a four-star hotel with a high guest score in a central spot. It holds 8.8 out of 10 from 1,112 guest reviews, which put it joint first in the sample we looked at.
Breakfast lovers have a clear reason to choose it. Guests single out the buffet, and the listed options include continental, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free choices.
Skip it if you expect five-star service. Wels had no five-star hotel in our sample, so this four-star property filled the slot. Also skip it if you are very sensitive about price, because some guests feel rooms or breakfast cost too much.
Location and getting around
The address is Kaiser-Josef-Platz 21, and the location score is 9.4, a strong figure. Guests describe a central position near the town centre with easy access to the highway.
Our data does not include walking times to specific sights in Wels, so we cannot tell you how far the main attractions are. Before booking, open a map and check the route from Kaiser-Josef-Platz to the places you plan to see, and to the train station if you arrive by rail.
Parking is not confirmed in the data. If you are driving, ask the hotel whether it has spaces and what they cost.
What guests say
Breakfast is the standout. Guests describe an extensive buffet with fresh fruit, homemade jams and a self-service juice press.
Location is the second strong point. People like being close to the centre and also being able to reach the highway quickly.
The main complaint concerns value. Some guests find the rates reasonable. Others think the room or breakfast prices are too high.
Price and how it compares with our other Wels picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults in one room, was €142.70 per night, roughly €285 for both nights. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
That price sat exactly at the sample median of €142.70. Our Budget pick, ibis Wels, was €133.80 a night with a score of 8.6. Our Best Value pick, PLAZA INN Wels, was €148.32 with a score of 8.2, so on these dates it was actually dearer than this hotel.
For about €9 more a night than the ibis, you get a fourth star, a higher guest score and the listed gym, restaurant, garden, terrace, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi. Opening times and any fees for these facilities are not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 3 eligible hotels in Wels, a small sample. Our Luxury slot goes to five-star hotels first. A four-star hotel can take it only with a score of at least 8.5, and this one cleared that bar with 8.8.
It also shared the top review score in the sample, backed by more than 1,100 reviews.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Read the rate conditions carefully, especially whether breakfast is included, since some guests found it pricey.
The hotel is listed as pet-friendly in our data, but pet fees and rules are not confirmed. Ask before you travel with an animal.
Check today's price for your dates, since the order of three hotels this close in price can change.
