Hotel Terranova is our Luxury pick in Coatzacoalcos and the only 5-star hotel among our three choices in the city. It suits business travellers and couples who arrive by car or plane and want a calm base with a pool, a gym and a restaurant.
It is less suited to people who want to walk out of the door into the city centre, since we have no verified walking times from this address. It is also worth a second thought if you are sensitive about housekeeping, given some guest reports covered below.
Location and getting around
The address is Blvd. Rio Calzadas Km 7.5 No. 100 Col. Tierra Nueva. Guests describe a peaceful riverside setting surrounded by large gardens and nature. The location score is 8.5 out of 10.
A kilometre marker on a boulevard usually points to a spot outside the dense centre, but we have not verified distances to any sights, so check a map before you book. Free parking and a free airport shuttle are listed by the property. Confirm shuttle times and whether you need to book it in advance.
What guests say
The hotel scores 9.0 out of 10 from 567 reviews, joint first of 7 eligible hotels in our sample. That is a large review base for a city of this size, which makes the score more reliable.
Staff get the most praise: friendly, attentive and welcoming. The gardens and quiet riverside setting also come up often.
The weak point is cleanliness. Most guests find the hotel tidy, but some reports mention insects, stained linens and damp smells. Read the most recent reviews to see whether these complaints are still appearing.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
Reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults put Hotel Terranova at €89.58 a night, against a sample median of €68.70. These are not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, HOTEL CAREYES (3 stars, 8.2), was €43.10 a night. Our Best Value pick, Extended Suites Coatzacoalcos Forum (4 stars, 8.5), was €52.20. Terranova costs about €37 more per night than the Best Value option. For that you get a fifth star, a higher score, a pool, a garden and the airport shuttle listed by the property.
Breakfast details are not confirmed in our data, so check whether it is included in your rate.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 7 eligible hotels in Coatzacoalcos. For the Luxury slot we prioritise five-star hotels, and Terranova is one, with the joint highest guest score in the sample.
Listed facilities include a gym, pool, restaurant, garden, free parking, free airport shuttle, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Availability and any fees need to be checked for your dates.
Before you book
Ask about the airport shuttle schedule. Check whether breakfast is included and what the cancellation terms say. Room size, noise and renovation condition have not been assessed. Given the mixed notes on cleanliness, recent reviews are worth ten minutes of your time, and you can raise any problem with the front desk on arrival.
