This 2-star hotel is our Budget pick for Ludwigsburg. It works for rail travellers, short city breaks and anyone who wants a simple base close to the palace. Family rooms are listed, and the property tags say pets are accepted, which helps if you travel with a dog.
If you want a restaurant, a pool or a gym on site, look at our other two picks. The facility list here is short: free Wi-Fi, a terrace and air conditioning. Light sleepers who are fussy about mattresses should read the bed comments below first.
Location and getting around
You will find it at Pflugfelder Strasse 18. Guests say it is directly next to the train station and a short walk from the town centre, and they rate the location 9.1 out of 10.
Ludwigsburg Palace is about 1.2 km away, roughly 15 minutes on foot. Schloss Favorite is 1.6 km, about 20 minutes. The Porsche Museum is a different story: 6.9 km and around 86 minutes, so it is far and you will need public transport or a taxi. All times are straight-line estimates.
What guests say
The score is 8.3 out of 10 from 2,799 reviews. Guests like the position by the station and describe rooms as tidy, modern and recently renovated.
Beds are the mixed point. Some guests find the mattresses comfortable, others say they are too soft or sagging. If you have back trouble, this is worth weighing. Note also that in a sample of 5 hotels, this one had the lowest guest score, though 8.3 is still good.
Price and what you get compared with our other two picks
The reference price was €84.10 a night, about €168 for two nights. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates. The sample median was €154.75, so this hotel was about 46% cheaper.
NH Ludwigsburg, our Best Value pick, is a 3-star scoring 8.4 at €118 a night, around €34 more for almost the same score. Schlosshotel Monrepos, our Luxury pick, is a 4-star in a park setting scoring 8.8 at €154.75. If you mainly need a clean bed near the trains, the savings here are real.
Breakfast is listed as a buffet. Whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 5 hotels in Ludwigsburg. This one had the lowest eligible reference price after the upscale choice was set aside, and it backs that up with 2,799 reviews and a 9.1 location score. For a Budget pick, that mix of price and position is hard to beat here.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Being next to the station is handy, but check recent reviews for comments on train noise. If you bring a pet, confirm the fee and rules for your dates.
