Yes, book it if you want a cheap, central and friendly base in Hasselt and do not plan to spend much time in the room. If you travel with lots of luggage or want space to spread out, the compact rooms will feel tight.

Short city breaks, train arrivals and travellers on a tight budget are the right audience. You get a 3-star hotel with air conditioning, a terrace, family rooms and free Wi-Fi, in a central spot that guests rate 9 out of 10 for location.
Anyone who needs room to unpack should look elsewhere. Guests often describe the rooms as compact and functional, but tight, with little storage. For a longer stay, or for a family with several suitcases, that can get old quickly.
Location and getting around
Find it at Thonissenlaan 52. Guests describe a central setting a short walk from the train station and the shops of the city centre.
By our straight-line estimates, St. Quentin's Cathedral is 0.5 km away, around 6 minutes on foot. The Japanese Garden of Hasselt is 1.6 km, about 20 minutes. These times have not been verified on the ground.
Bokrijk is 6.9 km from the hotel, about 86 minutes walking. That is far, so you will need public transport or a taxi to get there.
Parking is not mentioned in our data. If you are driving, ask the hotel about options and costs.
What guests say
It holds 8.2 out of 10 from 1,387 reviews. Among the 5 eligible hotels we compared in Hasselt, that puts it joint fifth of five on guest score, so the others are rated a bit higher.
What guests like most is the central location near the station and the shops, and a staff team described as friendly, helpful and accommodating.
The main complaint is room size. Rooms work, but many guests call them tight and mention limited storage.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
The reference price we saw was €73.50 per night for 2 adults in one room, for a 2-night stay in November 2026, about 27% below the median of the hotels we compared. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Best Value pick, B&B HOTEL Hasselt, scored 8.4 at €87.72 a night. Our Luxury pick, HasHotel, scored 9.1 at €152. So you save around €14 a night against the Best Value option and close to €80 against the Luxury one, in exchange for a lower score and smaller rooms.
Breakfast is a buffet with full English or Irish, halal and gluten-free options listed. Whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 5 eligible hotels in Hasselt. After setting aside the upscale choice, this one had the lowest eligible reference price, and an 8.2 from almost 1,400 reviews is still a solid result. For a budget slot, a central address and friendly staff count for a lot.
