KeTangJian Aparthotel is our Budget pick for Shanghai. It is a two-star property with a guest score of 8.1 from 838 reviews. The reference price, €20.34 a night, is about 81% below the sample median. That makes it a fit for travellers on a tight budget, those with business in Minhang, and anyone who only needs a clean place to sleep.
Skip it if you want to be near the best-known towers or need full hotel services. Breakfast is not listed in our data, and the facility list is short: free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a restaurant.
Location and getting around
The address is 2850 Hechuan Road, in the Minhang district. The location score is 8.0. That rating likely reflects the immediate area, because the city's best-known towers are a long way off.
Oriental Pearl Tower is 13.2 km away (about 165 minutes on foot), Shanghai Tower 13.3 km (about 166 minutes) and Jin Mao Tower 13.4 km (about 168 minutes). All three are far, and you will need public transport or a taxi to reach them. These are straight-line estimates that have not been verified. Check your route and travel time on a map before you book.
What guests say
The score is 8.1 from 838 reviews. On review score alone, it shared 15th place among 17 eligible properties in our sample, so this is not one of the highest rated hotels we looked at. It earned its place on price.
Our data has no summary of what guests like or dislike here. That is a gap. Before booking, read a handful of recent reviews and look for comments on cleanliness, noise and the condition of the rooms.
Price and value against our other picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 Nov, 2 adults, one room) was €20.34 a night, against a sample median of €109.48. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Best Value pick, Novotel Atlantis Shanghai (4 stars, 9.0), was €88.29 a night. Our Luxury pick, SAVHE Hotel on the Bund Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street (5 stars, 9.5), was €194.56. KeTangJian costs less than a quarter of the Best Value option. You give up a higher score, more facilities and, very likely, a more central base. Add the cost and time of daily trips into the centre before you decide.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 17 hotels in Shanghai. Once the upscale slot was filled, KeTangJian had the lowest eligible reference price, and it still holds a score above 8 from more than 800 reviews. That combination is what our Budget slot rewards.
Before you book
Room size, noise, renovation condition, breakfast inclusion and cancellation terms have not been assessed. Breakfast is not confirmed at all, so plan to eat out unless the listing says otherwise.
The restaurant is listed by the property, but opening times and prices are not confirmed. Check the room type carefully, since it is an aparthotel and the kitchen setup is not confirmed in our data.
