This is our Luxury pick in Ho Chi Minh City. It suits couples and travellers who want a full-service 5-star hotel with a spa and gym, within walking distance of central sights. Family rooms are listed, so it can also work for families.
Budget travellers should skip it. The rate was more than €60 above the sample median, and some guests find room rates and drinks expensive.
Location and getting around
The address is 182 Lý Tự Trọng, in District 1. The location score is 9.7.
Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon is 0.8 km away, about 10 minutes on foot. The War Remnants Museum is also 0.8 km, about 10 minutes. Guests add that Ben Thanh market and other major sights are within walking distance.
Landmark 81 is 3.8 km away, about 48 minutes on foot. That is far, so plan on a taxi or public transport. All walking times are straight-line estimates and real routes may be longer.
What guests say
The score is 9.4 out of 10 from 2,514 reviews. It ranked joint first on score among 16 properties compared.
Guests highlight the central District 1 location and the staff. Reviewers describe a friendly, professional team that gives helpful local advice and attentive service.
The main criticism is cost. For some, the high standards justify the price. Others find the rates and drinks expensive.

Our Best Value pick, Triple E Hotel Metro Ben Thanh, cost €51.58, also with 8.7. Both are 3-star. You pay for the fifth star, the facilities and a higher score.
Facilities listed by the property include a spa and wellness centre, restaurant, gym, pool, garden, terrace, family rooms, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Breakfast styles listed are vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, Asian, buffet and breakfast to go. Whether breakfast is in your rate is not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 16 eligible properties. Our Luxury slot goes to 5-star hotels first, and this one is officially 5 stars with a guest score tied for first in the sample and a large number of reviews. That made it the clear upscale pick.
