Maison Maubreuil
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
It is worth considering if you want a five-star base a minute from Nantes Cathedral and five minutes from the château, at about €223 a night. Be aware it has only 63 reviews, so book it with more homework than usual, or choose our Best Value pick if you want a proven option for far less.

Maison Maubreuil is our Luxury pick in Nantes. It suits couples and city-break travellers who want to stay right by the main sights and are happy to pay a premium for five stars. Family rooms are listed, and the listing indicates pets are accepted, so confirm the terms.
Skip it if you prefer a hotel with a long track record of reviews. With 63 reviews, the score is promising but rests on a small sample. It is also the most expensive of our three picks by a wide margin.
Location and getting around
The address is 6 Rue du Roi Albert, in the Centre Ville area. Guests rate the location 9.8.
Straight-line estimates put Nantes Cathedral about 100 metres away, roughly 1 minute on foot. The Fine Arts Museum of Nantes is 0.3 km, about 4 minutes, and the Château des ducs de Bretagne 0.4 km, about 5 minutes. You can see the core of the old centre without transport. These are estimates, not measured routes.
What guests say
The hotel scores 9.1 out of 10 from 63 reviews, joint first of the 9 eligible properties we compared. That is a strong result, but the review count is low, so a few stays can move the score.
Our data does not include a summary of what guests liked or disliked. We cannot tell you how they rate the rooms, service or breakfast. Read the full set of recent reviews yourself before booking, and pay attention to any comments about noise and room size.
Price and how it compares with our other picks
The reference price was €223.20 a night, about €446.40 for two nights. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 Nov) for 2 adults in one room, not live quotes. Check today's price for your dates.
That is well above the sample median of €84.92. Our Budget pick, Billie Hôtel, was €77.69 with an 8.7 score, and our Best Value pick, Hôtel de la Cité, was €86.97 with 9.0. You pay about €136 more a night than Best Value for the fifth star and this position by the cathedral, for a guest score only 0.1 higher.
