This is our Budget pick in Puerto Princesa. It suits backpackers, couples and families on a tight budget who will spend their days on tours and want a clean room to come back to. Family rooms, a garden, a restaurant and free parking are listed.
Skip it if you dislike small bathrooms, which guests mention often. It is also some distance from the cathedral, so it is not ideal if you want to explore on foot.
Location and getting around
The address is Badenas St., Wescom Road, Brgy San Pedro. The location score in our data is 8.2 out of 10.
The only named sight in our data is Puerto Princesa Cathedral, about 4.3 km away. As a straight-line estimate that is around 54 minutes on foot, which is far, so plan on public transport or a taxi. Guests say staff are efficient at helping with transfers, which helps here.
What guests say
The pension house scores 9.2 out of 10 from 1,331 guest reviews. That put it joint first on review score among the 4 eligible properties we compared, an unusual result for the cheapest pick in a city.
Staff are the most praised point. Guests describe a friendly, accommodating team that helps efficiently with tours and transfers. Cleanliness comes next: interiors are described as spotless, well maintained and fresh.
The weak point is space. Sleeping areas are comfortable, but bathrooms are frequently described as very small.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
The reference price was €18.53 per night, about €37 for two nights. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults in one room, not live quotes. That was 54% below the sample median of €40.27.
For that you get free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a restaurant, a garden, family rooms and free parking, as listed by the property. Breakfast options listed are Asian and American; whether breakfast is in your rate is not confirmed.
Mariafe Inn, our Best Value pick, was €21.79 per night with an 8.8 score and 2 stars. Hue Hotels and Resorts Puerto Princesa Managed by HII, our Luxury pick, was €58.75 per night with 4 stars and also an 8.8 score. Mongki's is the cheapest of the three and has the highest score.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 4 eligible properties in Puerto Princesa, a small sample. The Budget slot goes to the lowest eligible reference price after setting aside the upscale choice. Mongki's had that lowest price and the joint top guest score, backed by more than a thousand reviews.
