Motel L Lund
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
A sensible booking for drivers and budget travellers who do not mind staying outside the centre: Motel L Lund scores 8.3 from 2,090 reviews at about half the price of our other two Lund picks. If you want to walk out of the door into the old town, choose one of those instead.

This is the cheapest of our three Lund picks and suits people who care more about price than postcode. Guests rate the breakfast highly, the property lists a gym, a restaurant, family rooms and a terrace, and pets are allowed according to the listing. It works well for a road trip, given guests mention a quiet area near the highway.
Skip it if you want to stroll to the cathedral in a few minutes. The centre is a tram ride away, and guests note that parking and breakfast cost extra, which narrows the price gap with pricier hotels.
Location and getting around
The address is Telefongatan 14. Guests describe a quiet area near the highway with a short tram ride to the town centre. The location sub-score is 8.2, decent but the lowest figure here.
The Museum of Sketches for Public Art is about 2.2 km away, around 28 minutes on foot. Lund Cathedral is about 2.7 km away, around 34 minutes, which is a long walk: use the tram or a taxi. Dalby Söderskog National Park is about 7.9 km away, around 99 minutes on foot, so it is far and needs a car, public transport or a taxi. Walking times are straight-line estimates.
What guests say
The score is 8.3 out of 10 from 2,090 reviews. Breakfast gets the warmest comments: an extensive buffet with a wide variety of tasty options. Listed breakfast styles include vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, buffet and breakfast to go.
Guests also like the quiet setting and the easy tram link. On the downside, they say room rates are affordable but parking and breakfast are charged on top. In a small sample of 3 eligible hotels, it shared second place on review score.
Price and what you get against our other Lund picks
Reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults put Motel L Lund at €78.95 a night, about €158 for two nights. The sample median was €147.03, so it was 46% below the middle. These are not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
Our best value pick, Elite Hotel Ideon, Lund, was €164.25 a night with 8.2 and 4 stars. Our luxury pick, Best Western Plus Park City Lund, was €147.03 with 8.5 and 4 stars. Motel L scores slightly higher than the Elite Hotel Ideon and costs less than half as much. You give up a star and a central address.
Add the cost of breakfast and parking to your sums, since guests say both are extra. Our data does not give those amounts.
Why it made our top 3
Only 3 eligible hotels in Lund met our criteria, so the comparison is narrow. Motel L Lund took the budget slot because €78.95 was the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale choice was set aside. A score of 8.3 from more than 2,000 reviews made it an easy fit.
Before you book
Check the price of breakfast and parking, the room size, recent renovation and cancellation terms, none of which are confirmed. The gym, restaurant and terrace are listed, but opening times and any fees should be confirmed.
If you plan to rely on the tram, look up the stop nearest Telefongatan and the journey time to the centre before you commit.
