Rail arrivals are the obvious match. Guests say the hotel is close to the train station and tram lines, with a short walk into the city centre.
Families get family rooms, and guests mention staff giving small gifts to children. Pets are tagged as accepted in the listing data, but check the terms and any fee directly with the hotel.
If you arrive by car and want to park at the door, this is a weaker choice. Guests say there are no private on-site spaces, though a nearby public garage offers a discount.
Location and getting around Angers
The address is 1 Rue Auguste Gautier, in the area rated highest for location in Angers. The location score is 9.2 out of 10.
On straight-line estimates, the Château d'Angers is about 8 minutes on foot (0.6 km). Angers Cathedral and Angers Bridge are each about 9 minutes (0.7 km). These times have not been verified, but all three main sights are within easy walking range.
For a short city stay you can likely leave transport aside once you have arrived.
What guests say
The score is 9.0 out of 10 from 694 guest reviews. That was the joint top review score among the 9 eligible hotels we compared in Angers.
Guests praise the location next to the station and the staff, described as friendly and professional with a warm welcome. The gifts for children come up as a nice touch.
The recurring complaint is parking. The hotel does not have its own spaces, so you depend on the public garage nearby. Ask about the discount when you check in.
Price compared with our other Angers picks
The reference price was €112.30 per night, about €225 for two nights, seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 November) for 2 adults in one room. That matched the sample median exactly. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, Hôtel Suzane, is 3 stars with 8.1, at about €84.30 per night. Our Best Value pick, Novotel Angers Lac de Maine, is 4 stars with 8.8, at about €130.52 per night.
In this sample our Luxury pick was cheaper than the Best Value pick and scored higher. That is unusual. For about €28 more per night than the Budget pick you get a full star more and almost one extra point of guest score.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 9 eligible hotels in Angers. Our Luxury slot favours five-star hotels, and a four-star hotel only qualifies if it scores at least 8.5. With 9.0, this one clears that bar comfortably.
Its position next to the station and a short walk from the château made it an easy choice.
