This budget pick suits couples, families and short-stay visitors who want to walk to shops, the gardens and the river. The property lists a pool, a gym, family rooms, a terrace and free Wi-Fi, which is a fuller set than many hotels at this price.
Skip it if spotless rooms are non-negotiable. Most guests call the rooms generally tidy, but some report mould, stains and musty odours. That is a real risk, not a footnote.
Location and getting around
The address is 128 Charlotte Street in the Brisbane Central Business District. The location sub-score is 9.4. Guests mention Queen Street Mall and the Casino close by and a short walk to Southbank.
Brisbane City Botanic Gardens is about 0.5 km away, around 6 minutes on foot. The Gallery of Modern Art is about 1 km, around 13 minutes, and Lang Park is about 1.9 km, around 24 minutes. Everything on our list is walkable, though these are straight-line estimates and real routes run longer.
What guests say
With 4,883 reviews, this is a well-tested hotel. The average is 8.4 out of 10. Location and staff lead the praise: guests describe a friendly, helpful and welcoming front desk team.
Cleanliness is the sore point. Rooms are generally described as tidy, yet some guests report mould, stains and musty smells. On review score it shared ninth place among 14 eligible hotels, so it is solid rather than outstanding.
