This is our Luxury pick in Catania. It suits couples who want a 5-star hotel with a spa, a restaurant and a strong breakfast, right in the old centre. Families are also covered, since family rooms are listed, and the pets tag appears in the listing, so check the pet policy if you travel with one.
Skip it if you are counting euros. Guests rate the experience highly but also say rates and extras such as parking feel expensive. If you mainly need a clean bed close to the sights, our Budget and Best Value picks sit near €105 a night.
Location and getting around
The address is 1 Piazza Cardinale Pappalardo, in the City Centre. Teatro Massimo Bellini is about 0.2 km away, roughly 3 minutes on foot. Catania Cathedral is about 0.3 km, around 4 minutes. Castello Ursino is about 0.7 km, close to 9 minutes.
These are straight-line estimates, so real routes may take a little longer. Even so, everything on this list is walkable. Guests give the location 9.5 out of 10 and describe it as central, near the cathedral and the main square.
If you plan to drive, note that guests mention parking as an extra cost. Check the price and how it works before arrival.
What guests say
The score is 9.4 out of 10 from 802 reviews, the top review score among the 6 properties we compared.
Two themes stand out. First, the location: guests like being within walking distance of the historic sites. Second, the breakfast: they describe a buffet with local products and hot dishes made to order, served in a courtyard. Breakfast styles listed include Continental, Italian, vegan, gluten-free and American.
The main complaint is value. Some guests feel the quality justifies the cost, while others find the room rates and extras like parking expensive.
