Palette Hotel Batab is our Budget choice in Cancún. It is a 3-star hotel in Downtown Cancún with a guest score of 8.1 out of 10 from 187 reviews.
It suits travellers who want to spend little on the room and more on trips. Being near the bus station helps if you plan to move around the region. Its tags include family, pets, parking, air conditioning and breakfast, and the property lists family rooms, a restaurant, free parking and free Wi-Fi.
Light sleepers and anyone who wants a beach hotel should look elsewhere. The area is described by guests as noisy, and the beach is not on the doorstep in our data.
Location and getting around
The address is Avenida Chichén Itzá, No. 52, Manzana 24, Super Manzana 23 Centro. The location score is 8.5 out of 10.
The only nearby sight in our data is the El Rey archaeological site, 13 km away in a straight line, around 163 minutes on foot. That is far. You will need public transport or a taxi to get there.
Guests say the hotel is central and close to the bus station. They also mention poor sidewalks around it, so walking at night with luggage may be less comfortable than the map suggests.
What guests say
Beds come up often. Guests describe large, comfortable mattresses.
The staff get good marks too. Reviews mention a friendly, efficient and attentive team.
The main complaint is the location's downside. It is central and near the bus station, but guests say it is noisy and the surrounding sidewalks are in poor shape. If noise bothers you, pack earplugs or ask for a quieter room.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults in one room, was about €46.32 per night. The median in our Cancún sample was €230.93 per night, so this is far below the typical rate. These are reference prices, not live quotes. Check today's price for your dates.
Our Best Value pick, Sina Suites Cancun - Adults Only, is a 3-star scoring 8.8 at about €94.13 per night, in the Hotel Zone. Our Luxury pick, Jungala Hotel at VidantaWorld Riviera Maya, is a 5-star scoring 9.0 at about €442.03 per night.
Batab costs about half of Sina Suites. You give up some guest score and the Hotel Zone setting, but you save close to €48 per night.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 15 eligible properties in Cancún. Batab sat in joint fifth position by review score in that sample.
It took the Budget slot because it had the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale choice was set aside. A cheap room with good beds and well-rated staff is a fair deal at this price.
