Book it if you want Tavira's top-rated 5-star base in a quiet, central spot with a pool and a strong breakfast. Light sleepers should think twice, as guests report noise and gaps around bathroom doors.

This is our Luxury pick for Tavira. It suits couples and travellers who want a calm, central 5-star stay and plan to explore the town on foot. A pool, a restaurant and a garden are listed, along with free parking, which helps if you are touring the Algarve by car.
It is less suited to very light sleepers or people sharing a room who value privacy. The main guest complaint is soundproofing: gaps around bathroom doors and outside noise at night.
Pets are tagged as accepted. Conditions and fees are not confirmed, so ask the hotel first.
Location and getting around
The address is Rua D. Paio Peres Correia, and the location score is a very high 9.7. Igreja da Misericórdia de Tavira is about 3 minutes on foot (0.2 km) by straight-line estimate.
Guests describe a central and quiet setting within walking distance of the castle, the river and restaurants. The Fortress of Cacela is a different matter: about 69 minutes on foot (5.5 km), so treat it as a trip by car or taxi.
What guests say
Location gets the most praise, for being both central and calm. Breakfast is the other highlight: a buffet with a wide choice of fresh fruit, pastries and cooked eggs.
The weak point is sound. Reviewers mention gaps around bathroom doors that reduce privacy, and outside noise that disturbs sleep. Room size and renovation condition have not been assessed.
Price compared with our other Tavira picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults in one room, was €156 a night, or €312 for both nights. The sample median was €111.50, so this sits above the middle of the market, as you would expect for 5 stars. These are reference prices, not live quotes; check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, OZADI Tavira Hotel, scored the same 9.0 at €84 a night. Our Best Value pick, AP Maria Nova Lounge - Adults Friendly, scored 8.5 at €110. So the extra €72 a night over OZADI buys 5-star status and the location, not a higher guest score.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 4 eligible properties in Tavira, a small sample. For the Luxury slot we prioritise official 5-star hotels, and this one holds that rating.
It also shared the top guest score of the 4, at 9.0 from 600 reviews. That combination made it the clear Luxury choice.
