This is our Best Value pick for Tainan. It suits food-focused travellers, couples and families who want to walk to local stalls and the old fort and still have a gym, a restaurant, family rooms, free Wi-Fi and air conditioning on site.
Light sleepers should be careful. Guests report thin walls that let in noise from hallways, plumbing and neighbouring bathrooms. If quiet nights are a priority, ask for a room away from lifts and service areas, or consider our Luxury pick.
Location and getting around
The hotel is at No. 202, Cheng Gong Road in the North District. Guests like its central position near the train station, local food stalls and a popular bakery, and the location score is 9.4.
Fort Provintia is about 0.2 km away, roughly 3 minutes on foot. The Chimei Museum is a different story: about 7.5 km, or around 94 minutes walking. That is far, so you will need public transport or a taxi. Walking times are straight-line estimates and have not been verified.
What guests say
The hotel scores 9.2 out of 10 from 1,608 reviews, joint first of 15 eligible properties in the sample.
Breakfast gets the warmest praise: a rooftop buffet with a wide variety of local dishes such as beef soup and porridge. The listed breakfast types are continental and buffet. Guests also value the location near the station and food stalls.
The clear downside is soundproofing. Room size, renovation condition and cancellation terms have not been assessed, so check recent reviews too.
Price compared with our other Tainan picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults was €44.23 per night, 37% below the sample median of €70.14. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, 嵐茵商旅, was €19.23 per night with a score of 8.1 and 3 stars. Our Luxury pick, Crowne Plaza Tainan by IHG, was €111.71 with a score of 9.1 and 5 stars. Provintia costs about €25 more per night than the budget option but scores more than a full point higher, and it outscores the Luxury pick at well under half its price.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 15 eligible hotels in Tainan. The Best Value slot balances guest score, number of reviews and reference price, so it is not always the cheapest hotel. A 9.2 from more than 1,600 reviews at 37% below the median made this one of the clearest Best Value choices we have.
Before you book
Ask for a quiet room if noise bothers you, and pack earplugs. Check whether the rooftop breakfast is included in your rate. Confirm gym opening times and the cancellation terms. Parking is not covered in the data, so ask the hotel if you are driving.
