By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Yes, if you are driving and want a clean, low-cost room with free parking near the I-5. Travellers who want a higher score and more polish should look at our other two picks, which cost more than twice as much.

This is our Budget pick in Chula Vista. It suits drivers and families on a tight budget who want free parking, an outdoor pool, air conditioning and a clean room. A garden is also listed.
Skip it if breakfast is a big part of your stay, since guests describe a small dining area and limited choice. It is also not the place for a special occasion: it ranked in the lower half of our sample on guest score.
Location and getting around
The address is 778 Broadway, Chula Vista. The location score is 8.3. Guests mention that it sits near the I-5 freeway, shopping centres and places to eat.
Our data does not include distances to specific sights from this hotel. That is a gap, so check a map for the places you plan to visit and work out drive times before booking. Free parking is listed, which helps if you have a car.
What guests say
The score is 8.2 out of 10 from 980 reviews, a large base of feedback. Guests focus on cleanliness: tidy rooms, fresh towels and a pleasant scent. The position near the freeway, shops and restaurants also gets positive mentions.
Breakfast draws the most criticism. It includes items such as biscuits and sausages, but the dining area is small and the selection is limited.
Price and how it compares with our other picks
Reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults put this hotel at about €87.55 a night, roughly €175 for two nights. The sample median was €138.01 a night, so it sat about 37% below the middle of the market. These are not live quotes.
Our Best Value pick, SpringHill Suites by Marriott Chula Vista Eastlake, scored 9.3 at €214.15 a night. Our Luxury pick, Ayres Hotel San Diego South - Chula Vista, is a 4-star scoring 9.4 at €196.38 a night, so on these dates it was cheaper than the Best Value pick. Both cost well over double this hotel, which is the real trade-off: a lower score for a much lower price.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 8 eligible properties in Chula Vista. This one was joint sixth on guest score, so it did not earn its place by rating. It made the list because it had the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale choice was set aside, and 980 reviews give confidence in its 8.2.
Before you book
Breakfast is listed as continental, full English/Irish, vegetarian, American and buffet. Whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed.
Pool opening times and any fees should be checked for your dates. Room size, noise, renovation condition and cancellation terms have not been assessed, and with a freeway nearby, it is worth asking about a quieter room.
