What guests say
Location gets the clearest praise: quiet, close to the sea and still walkable to town. Breakfast is the other favourite, a varied buffet with fresh fruit and cooked eggs served on a garden terrace.
Our data does not include any recurring guest complaint for this hotel. That does not mean there are none. Read recent reviews for comments on rooms, noise and the walk back from the centre, since none of these is confirmed here.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
Our reference check for 10 to 12 November 2026, 2 adults and one room, showed about €115.29 per night, 36% below the sample median of €179.50. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, not live quotes. Check today's price for your dates.

With such a small gap to Hotel Cajú, choose this hotel mainly if the quiet seaside setting, the garden breakfast or free parking matter to you.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 40 properties in Funchal, with 38 eligible on review score. Quinta Da Penha De Franca took the Budget slot because €115.29 was the lowest eligible reference price after the upscale pick was reserved.
It is not here for its rank on score. It is here because it pairs that price with a 9.4 location score, a large base of reviews and no repeated complaint in our data.
