This is our Luxury pick in Memphis: an official 5-star hotel at 50 Harbor Town Square, rated 8.7 out of 10. It suits couples and travellers who put comfort and a higher category ahead of price, and who are happy to drive or take a taxi into the main sightseeing areas. Free parking is listed, which helps if you arrive by car.
It is less suited to travellers on a tight budget or to anyone who wants every major sight within a short walk. Also note that the score rests on only 63 reviews, a much smaller base than most hotels on our site.
Location and getting around
The location score is 9.5. The Memphis Pyramid is the closest landmark in our data, about 0.7 km away or roughly 9 minutes on foot.
The Blues Hall of Fame and the National Civil Rights Museum are both about 3 km away, around 38 minutes on foot. That is far for a casual walk, so plan on public transport, a taxi or your own car for those visits. All walking times are straight-line estimates, so real routes will take longer.
What guests say
Our data has no summary of guest likes or dislikes for this hotel. The 8.7 score and the top ranking among 9 hotels tell you guests are broadly happy, but 63 reviews is a thin sample.
Before booking, read the most recent reviews yourself. Look for comments on room condition, noise and the restaurant, since none of these are confirmed by us.
Price and what you get, compared with our other Memphis picks
For 2 adults staying 10 to 12 November 2026, we saw €322.27 a night, about €645 for the two nights. The median of the hotels we compared was €143.97, so this is well over twice the typical rate. These are reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, not live quotes. Check today's price for your dates.
Our other picks cost far less. Comfort Inn Memphis Downtown, the Budget choice, scored 8.0 at €119.25 a night. La Quinta by Wyndham Memphis Downtown, the Best Value choice, scored 8.6 at €124.72. That last one is only 0.1 points behind River Inn on score.
For the higher price you get the 5-star category, a restaurant, a gym, free parking, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and a terrace. An American breakfast is listed, but whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 9 eligible hotels in Memphis. Our Luxury slot goes to 5-star hotels first, and River Inn of Harbor Town holds an official 5-star rating. It also ranked joint first on guest score in the sample, which is why it got the place.
