Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof
By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Book it if you want the top-rated five-star option in our small Grindelwald sample, close to the train station and town centre. Skip it if breakfast matters a lot to you, since guests mention cold hot dishes and short serving times.

Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof is our Luxury pick for Grindelwald. It suits travellers arriving by train who want a five-star hotel with a spa, pool, restaurant, garden and terrace listed. Family rooms are listed too, and the listing is tagged for pets.
Late risers may want to think again. Guests say breakfast serving times are short.
If price is your main concern, note that all three of our Grindelwald picks are expensive. Saving money here means choosing a four-star rather than finding a cheap room.
Location and getting around
The address is Swiss Alp Resort 1. Guests rate the location 9.6 and say it is close to the train station, a bus stop and the town centre.
Our data does not include measured walking times to specific sights. If you plan hikes or excursions, check routes and times from the station before you go.
Parking is not listed among the facilities in our data. If you are driving, ask the hotel about options and costs.
What guests say
The score is 9.0 out of 10 from 252 reviews. It ranked joint first of 3 eligible hotels in our sample. That is a small comparison set and a modest number of reviews, so treat the ranking with some caution.
Location and staff lead the praise. Guests describe a friendly, attentive team with a warm welcome and helpful service.
Breakfast is the weak spot. The buffet is described as tasty, but hot food can arrive cold and serving times are short. Listed breakfast types are Vegetarian, Halal, Asian, American and Buffet, a wider range than most.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
Reference prices seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults came to €409.36 a night, above the sample median of €337.37. These are not live quotes, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, Sunstar Hotel & SPA Grindelwald, was €328.10 a night with a score of 8.6. Our Best Value pick, Bergwelt Grindelwald - Alpine Design Resort, was €337.37 with 8.9. Both are four-star. The Schweizerhof costs about €72 more per night than Bergwelt for a fifth star and a slightly higher score. The gap between the Budget and Best Value picks is under €10, so Grindelwald is pricey at every level.
Why it made our top 3
We compared only 3 eligible properties in Grindelwald, so each of them took one of our three slots. The Schweizerhof went to Luxury because it is the official five-star of the group and holds the top guest score.
