By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
Book it if you want the cheapest of our three Peniche picks and you have a car, since parking is free and the setting is quiet. Skip it if you want to walk everywhere, because guests describe it as a short drive from the town centre.

Star inn Peniche is our Budget pick in the city: a 3-star hotel with a guest score of 8.5. It fits road-trippers, couples who want a calm base, and families, since family rooms are listed. The data also tags it as pet-friendly and lists a pool, a garden, a restaurant and air conditioning.
Travellers without a car should think twice. Guests call the setting quiet with plenty of parking, a short drive from the centre. That is good news for drivers and less good if you plan to walk to dinner each night.
Location and getting around
The address is Estrada do Baleal. Guests give the location 9.2. The property lists itself as beachfront, but the exact distance to the sand has not been confirmed, so check the map before you book.
By our straight-line estimates, Peniche Fortress is about 1.5 km away, roughly 19 minutes on foot. Furninha is about 3.3 km, around 41 minutes, and the Lighthouse of Cabo Carvoeiro about 3.8 km, around 48 minutes. Both of those are far on foot, so plan on driving, a taxi or public transport. Real walking routes can be longer than these estimates.
Free parking is listed, which matters here more than in most towns.
What guests say
The 8.5 comes from 1,898 reviews. In the provider sample it placed joint 4th of 4 eligible properties, so it was the lowest-rated of the group, though 8.5 is still a solid score.
Guests like the quiet setting and the parking. Breakfast is a buffet, and reviews mention a wide range of hot and cold items, including gluten-free options. Whether breakfast is included in your rate is not confirmed.
The main reservation is value. Most see the rates as reasonable for a budget stay, but some feel the cost is high for the facilities on offer. Room size, noise and renovation condition have not been assessed.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
The reference price was €72.20 a night, seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, about €144 in total. That was 39% below the sample median of €117.44. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
The gap to our other picks is large. MH Atlantico, our Best Value pick, was €115.89 a night with 8.7. Surfers Lodge Peniche, our Luxury pick, was €119 with 9.2. So you save roughly €44 to €47 a night here, and give up some guest score in return. Free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, a pool and free parking are listed.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 4 eligible hotels in Peniche. The Budget slot goes to the lowest eligible reference price once the upscale choice is set aside, and at €72.20 this was it. A score of 8.5 from nearly 1,900 reviews means the saving does not come with a weak rating.
Before you book
Check today's price for your dates. Confirm whether breakfast is included, what the cancellation terms are, and whether the pool is open in your season, since opening times are not confirmed.
If you bring a pet, ask about the rules and any fee. If you are arriving without a car, check how you will reach the centre.
