Swissotel Sarajevo

By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.

Worth booking if you want the highest-rated five-star stay in Sarajevo, with a spa, pool and polished service, and you do not mind paying well above the city median. Budget for extras, since parking and spa use cost more.

Who it suits and who should skip it

Business travellers, couples on a comfortable budget and anyone who wants full hotel services will be well served. A spa, pool, gym, restaurant and air conditioning are listed. The breakfast options are unusually wide: continental, vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, American and buffet.

If you mainly want a central bed at a fair price, our Best Value pick costs less than half as much and still scores 9.0. Guests also flag extra charges, so this is not the place for travellers who dislike surprises on the bill.

Location and getting around

Swissotel Sarajevo is at 1 Vrbanja. Guests say it connects directly to a shopping mall and is close to public transport links. Location scores 9.5 out of 10.

Avaz Twist Tower is about 0.8 km away, roughly 10 minutes on foot. Sacred Heart Cathedral is about 1.5 km, around 19 minutes. Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque is about 1.7 km, around 21 minutes. All three are within walking range, though these are straight-line estimates and real routes will be a little longer.

What guests say

A score of 9.2 out of 10 from 1,431 reviews puts this hotel at the top of the 9 we compared, jointly. The staff get specific praise: professional, friendly and helpful, with valet parking on offer. The direct link to the mall and the nearby transport also come up often.

The complaint is about value. Guests like the modern facilities but note extra charges for parking and for using the spa. Factor that in if you plan to drive or to spend time in the wellness area.

Price and how it compares with our other picks

The reference price was about €254.34 a night, around €509 for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults. Treat it as a guide, not a live quote, and check today's price for your dates.

Garni Konak Hotel By Blanket Collection, our Budget pick, was about €54.06 a night with an 8.6 score and three stars. Hotel Sana, our Best Value pick, was about €115.56 a night with a 9.0 score and four stars. The gap is large. You pay more than twice the Best Value price for a 0.2 higher score, five stars and the spa, pool and service that come with them.

Why it made our top 3

We compared 9 eligible hotels in Sarajevo. Our Luxury slot prioritises five-star properties, and this one has an official five-star rating. It also ranked joint first of the 9 on guest score, from a large base of reviews.

Its price is about two and a half times the sample median of €103.06 a night. For the Luxury slot that is expected, and the scores back it up.
