By the Top3Hotels editorial team. Based on Booking.com guest scores and reviews, location data and reference prices. We did not stay at this hotel. Updated 2026-10-24.
THE 1O1 Malang OJ is worth booking if you want a four-star hotel with a pool, spa, gym and a large breakfast at roughly the city's median price. Do not book it for the pool alone, since guests say the water is often too cold.

This is our Best Value pick in Malang. It has four stars and a long facilities list: gym, spa, pool, restaurant, free parking, family rooms, air conditioning and free Wi-Fi.
It suits families, couples and business travellers who want proper hotel services without paying much more than an average room in the city. Guests who care about breakfast will be pleased.
If a warm pool is a priority, look elsewhere or lower your expectations. If you can stretch the budget, our Luxury pick scores higher. If you want the lowest price, our Budget pick costs about 40% less.
Location and getting around
The address is Jalan Dr. Cipto No.11. Guests rate the location 8.9 out of 10.
The Great Mosque of Malang is about 1.7 km away, around 21 minutes on foot as a straight-line estimate. That is a manageable walk.
Singhasari temple is 9.5 km away, close to two hours on foot. That is far, so plan on public transport or a taxi. Free parking is listed if you have a car.
What guests say
The hotel scores 8.8 out of 10 from 357 reviews, third among 10 eligible properties in the sample.
Staff get the most praise. Reviewers describe a friendly, helpful and attentive team that gives a warm welcome.
Breakfast is the other strong point. Guests mention a large buffet with a wide mix of Indonesian and Western dishes. The listing describes Asian and American options.
The weak spot is the indoor pool. Guests say the water is often too cold and the area lacks atmosphere. It is there, but it is not a reason to choose this hotel.
Price and how it compares with our other picks
We saw a reference price of about 42 euros per night, around 84 euros for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults. That is not a live quote. Check today's price for your dates.
The sample median was almost identical, at about 42 euros. Our Budget pick, Ibis Styles Malang, was about 25 euros per night with three stars and an 8.2 score. Our Luxury pick, Hotel Tugu Malang, was about 80 euros per night with five stars and a 9.4 score.
So you pay around 17 euros a night more than the Budget pick for an extra star, a higher score and many more facilities. The Luxury pick costs nearly twice as much and scores higher still.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 10 eligible hotels in Malang. The Best Value slot weighs guest score, review count and reference price together. It does not go to the cheapest hotel.
THE 1O1 Malang OJ offered a high score, a reasonable number of reviews and four-star facilities at a price right at the median. That balance earned its place.
