This is our Luxury pick in Charlotte. It suits couples and business travellers who want to walk to downtown theatres and entertainment and who value good service at the desk, from the concierge and at valet.
Our data tags it as pet-friendly. Check the conditions and any fee with the hotel.
It is a weaker choice for families or anyone who wants a pool or spa, since neither appears in our data. Drivers should also budget for parking.
Location and getting around
The address is 127 North Tryon Street, Downtown Charlotte. Guests give the location 9.4/10 and describe a central setting near theatres and entertainment venues.
The NASCAR Hall of Fame is about 0.7 km away, roughly 9 minutes on foot. The Cathedral of Saint Patrick is about 2.5 km, around 31 minutes. That is just over half an hour, so a taxi or public transport is the easier option. Both times are straight-line estimates.
Guests mention paying for parking. The exact cost is not confirmed, so ask before you arrive by car.
What guests say
The Ivey's scores 9.0/10 from 248 reviews, joint second of the 10 eligible hotels we compared in Charlotte.
Staff are the clear strength. Guests call the team friendly, professional and attentive across the front desk, concierge and valet. The downtown location is the other frequent compliment.
The criticism is about value. Guests describe a high-quality stay, but parking fees and a limited set of amenities make the price feel steep to some.
