Travellers heading for the national parks who want to walk to dinner in town are the best match. Guests say the town square, restaurants and shops are walkable, and that the parks are easy to reach.
Family rooms are listed, and free parking helps if you are on a road trip. A free airport shuttle is also listed.
Skip it if you want a full-service hotel. The facility list is short, and some guests feel the rates are expensive for what is provided, even if they are reasonable for Jackson.
Location and getting around
The address is 285 N Cache Street, Jackson. Guests rate the location 9.7 out of 10 and describe the town square, restaurants and shops as within walking distance. We have not verified exact walking times.
The only measured point in our data is South Park, Wyoming, about 5.8 km away, roughly 73 minutes on foot by straight-line estimate. That is far, so you will need a car, public transport or a taxi.
For the national parks, guests mention easy access, but plan on driving or an organised trip. Ask the hotel which airport the free shuttle serves and how to book it.
What guests say
The Rockwell Inn scores 9.0 out of 10 from 1,002 reviews, a large base. That was joint third of the 6 hotels we compared in Jackson.
Guests like the walkable location and the buffet breakfast, which offers a wide range of hot and cold items such as eggs, waffles and pastries.
The criticism is about value. Guests call the rates reasonable for the area but often expensive for the facilities on offer.
