This is our Luxury pick in Haarlem, a 4-star hotel scoring 8.8. It suits drivers, families and anyone who wants facilities on site: a gym, a spa, a restaurant, a terrace, family rooms and free parking are all listed.
Travellers who want to walk out of the door into the historic centre should look at our other picks. Guests say the location is handy for public transport and highways, but that the centre is a short bus ride away. Some also find room rates and dining prices expensive.
Location and getting around
The address is Toekanweg 2. Guests rate the location 8.4, the lowest of our three Haarlem picks.
By straight-line estimates, the Frans Hals Museum is about 1.2 km away, around 15 minutes on foot. The Teylers Museum is about 1.3 km, roughly 16 minutes, and the Grote Kerk about 1.5 km, roughly 19 minutes. So walking is possible, though real routes can be longer than these figures, and guests mention taking the bus.
Free parking is listed, which is a real advantage if you are driving.
What guests say
The 8.8 comes from 2,078 reviews, joint 1st of 6 eligible properties in the provider sample. That is the same score as our Best Value pick with more than twice the number of reviews.
Breakfast is the most praised feature. Guests describe an extensive buffet with a wide variety of fresh ingredients and hot dishes. It is listed as continental and buffet; whether it is included in your rate is not confirmed.
The complaint is about cost. Guests rate the standard of the facilities highly but consider room rates and restaurant prices expensive. Room size, noise and renovation condition have not been assessed.
Price and what you get compared with our other picks
The reference price was €147.90 a night, seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 for 2 adults, about €296 in total. That is 1% below the sample median of €150.15. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
In an unusual twist, our Luxury pick came in below our Best Value pick. Metzlr House was €152.40 with the same 8.8. Holiday Inn - the niu, Dairy Haarlem, our Budget pick, was €133.40 with 8.2. What you get here for the money is the widest facility list of the three, plus free parking. What you give up is a central position.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 6 eligible hotels in Haarlem. Our Luxury slot goes to five-star hotels first; a 4-star hotel can take it only with a score of at least 8.5. With 8.8 from over 2,000 reviews and the fullest facility list among our picks, this one qualified clearly.
