This is our Luxury pick for Épinal. With no five-star option qualifying, a four-star hotel needs a score of at least 8.5 to take the slot, and this one has 8.7 out of 10 from 732 reviews. It suits drivers, families and anyone who wants a spa and pool at the end of the day. Pets are accepted according to the listing, and there are family rooms.
It is a weaker fit for travellers on foot, because the basilica is about 35 minutes away. Guests who watch their spending should also know that breakfast and the deposit draw complaints.
Location and getting around
The address is Le-Saut-Le-Cerf. Guests rate the location 8.4. Our data does not confirm the distance to the station or the town centre, so check a map.
By straight-line estimate, the Basilica of Saint Maurice (Épinal) is 2.8 km away, around 35 minutes on foot. That is far for an evening stroll, so plan on public transport, a taxi or your own car. Free parking is listed by the property, which makes driving the easy option.
What guests say
The team is described as professional, friendly and helpful, with a warm welcome on arrival.
Breakfast is the other favourite. Guests mention a large selection with local products and plenty of tasty choices. The listing describes it as an American-style buffet.
Value is the sore point. Room rates are seen as fair, but guests find the breakfast price and the deposit requirement high. Breakfast inclusion in your rate is not confirmed.
Price and how it compares with our other Épinal picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026 (10 to 12 Nov, 2 adults) was €127.75 per night, about €256 for both nights. That is above the €99.93 median of the hotels we sampled. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
Our Budget pick, ibis budget Epinal, was €73.40 per night with a score of 8.3 and 2 stars. Our Best Value pick, Mercure Epinal Centre, was €113.14 per night with 8.2 and 4 stars. You pay about €15 a night more than the Mercure for a higher score and a spa, pool and gym.
