This is our Budget pick in Huddersfield. It suits people who need a tidy base for a night or two, such as visitors seeing family, contractors or anyone on a tight budget. Drivers benefit from the listed free parking, and family rooms are listed too.
It is less suited to travellers who treat breakfast as part of the stay. Some guests are unhappy with the food quality and with the meat alternatives offered in place of pork. It also placed joint 5th of 6 on guest score, so it is not the pick for those chasing the highest rating.
Location and getting around
The address is 4 Clare Hill, and guests rate the location 8.5 out of 10. Our data does not confirm the walking time to Huddersfield town centre or the station, so check that on a map if you plan to go without a car.
The sights listed near the hotel are all far. Bailiff Bridge is about 7.1 km away, Halifax Minster about 9.1 km and Sowerby Bridge about 10.4 km. Each would take well over an hour on foot, so you will need public transport, a taxi or your own car.
What guests say
The score is 8.2 out of 10 from 696 reviews. Cleanliness gets the most praise: guests call the place spotless, tidy and well maintained throughout.
Value is the other theme. Guests see the rates as reasonable and competitive for the area.
Breakfast is where opinions turn. The buffet selection is described as large, yet some guests dislike the non-pork meat alternatives and the quality of the food.
Price and how it compares with our other picks
The reference price seen for a 2-night stay in November 2026, for 2 adults, was €64.11 per night. That was about 42% below the €109.94 median of the hotels we compared. It is not a live quote, so check today's price for your dates.
For that you get a 3-star hotel with free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, a garden, a terrace, free parking and family rooms, as listed by the property.
Our Best Value pick, The Briar Court Hotel, is also 3 stars and scores 8.7 at €105.44 per night, and its guests praise the breakfast. Our Luxury pick, Manor House Lindley, is 5 stars with a 9.2 score at €306.35 per night. Cambridge Hotel saves you about €41 a night against the Best Value option.
Why it made our top 3
We compared 6 eligible hotels in Huddersfield. Cambridge Hotel had the lowest eligible reference price after the upscale choice was set aside.
A price that low with an 8.2 from nearly 700 reviews, plus consistent praise for cleanliness, is a fair deal for a Budget slot.
